Or maybe we should get back to infrastructure and put in underground cable to keep electric poles, lines and transformers from exploding and igniting in hurricane force winds. WE have had more national disasters in the last few years than we have had in the last 50. And it is effecting a lot more states. California, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, not to mention tornado alley that is not just hitting Oklahoma and Kansas but all the way up to Nebraska, Michigan, etc. the bridge collapses and not to even mention record heat in Arizona and Nevada.. Newsom and his democrat allies have literally crippled the functionality of the state's government and in the process are causing the state's economy to hemorrhage, from people and businesses deciding to move out of state. Being fair, I realize the fault isn't all theirs. They were voted into office by California voters, which means the constituency is a major part of the problem. Liberals have taken over most areas of the state. It's their choices of candidates and their ideology and agenda that is tearing California apart. So, reports are that there is more than sufficient water in reservoirs at the moment. It seems the issue is the scale of these fires and the ability to get water through transmission mains to the locations where it is needed. My understanding is that all water mains and booster pumps are oversized to deliver fire flows that are many times higher than the volume required for normal use. However, it is unsurprising that the multiple fire flows that would be required to fight these fires would stress, and could overwhelm, the water distribution system's capability. The culprit here is dried out brush, grasses, and chaparal after months lacking rain and then hot near-hurricane force winds pushing embers well ahead of the actual fires - and perhaps to some extent home owners not maintaining their properties. Unfortunately , judging by the news from around the world, it seems carrer fire fighter is a growing job field these days, along with flood victim rescuer and people that clean up after extreme rainfall events.
