We believe this is bad for the industry because cruising is supposed to be non-political. We ALL are trying to get away from politics on cruise ships and people could watch this TikTok video and immediately think that is not happening. Similarly for this video we are asking no one get political. This is cruise news about a very mis-guided video that is being shown to millions of people. We love cruising because it’s the one rare place we can come together, put away our differences and enjoy travel together.

I was on Carnival Celebration Nov 3rd to the 10th, and for several months I was concerned about the election being shown. I knew neither side would be happy which could cause a problem. I was SO relieved when Carnival made the decision not to show it. That next morning and day, thankfully no one brought up the election.

We were bracing ourselves to see if any politically motivated arguments, fights, or incidents occurred and we are happy to say they have not. I saw 1 political Halloween costume of a candidate worn by a child but otherwise no shirts, buttons, merchandise of either candidate and we are grateful. I have voted both Republican and Democratic. My personal belief is political agendas should be left at home while on vacation. However, I do believe at the moment we ( the USA ) is in a very vicarious situation in this particular era of politics. It is so appearing to be following the path of Germany in the 1920's - 30's. I remember a teacher I had said that - one of the main reasons that it happened then was because of the silence of the good. We cannot afford to let that happen again. I'm going out on Harmony in 2 weeks, and while I can proudly say that I'm glad Trump is returning to the White House, Royal needs to get on this and let people know that they are non political. One of the first things I learned in business is to never mix politics with it. You automatically alienate half your customer base when you do so. This is a lesson that many corporations have forgotten, to their detriment.

Kudos for you for pointing it out to be a meme and how it was constructed. Having never been on a RCL I am not aware of the cruise pledge, so this made a lot more sense. One would wonder if the outrage would have been as intense if it was reverse-- VP Harris being praised and former President Trump being bashed. My gut feeling it would not. I personally do not ask passengers political leanings when I'm on a cruise and I have a GREAT time! I agree RCL needs to come out and address this video!

I was on the Serenade of the seas in Sept and there was a group of pro-Trump supporters who took over the solarium every day with their personal political rallies. They took over the cruise facebook page - one of the admins was the leader of this political group, and they kicked me off for saying "I don't miss politics with tequila". {The other admin let me back on}. I had a hard time with them trying to force me to take "Trump swag" {Their words, not mine} because they wouldn't take no for an answer. They kept giving speeches on how wonderful they were and the other party was dirt. I finally had to move my seat to the outer pool area to get away from them. They happened every single day of our 5 {Turned 7 because of the 1st hurricane} day cruise.
