@Blakbox923 жыл бұрын
Signatures are good for a few things - signing something like for a package or document, so if you need proof you have or haven't received something or proof that you read and agree to the terms of a document, you can say "yeah thats my signature/no it's not my signature/no I didn't sign" - signing artwork or autographing an item, the first is more of a "yes I did this, it's my work" (though in the 21st century, having a wordmark/logo or link to your art page in plain text is far more useful), the second involves someone of note who's signing a lot of things and thus their signature can be compared easily to validate authenticity. Signatures shouldn't be used as something to compare over time like for voting, considering the gap in years one might sign. The idea that you'd be given a hard time because the squiggles you wrote at 18 before voting don't look the same at 22, let alone 28, is ridiculous.

Back issues can cause spasms though if the issue results in pressure applied to nerves. However, the nerves that control the hands and the shoulders are too far apart to be affected by the same spinal issue. If I had to give my impression from afar I would say that it was a neurological issue. Perhaps some sort of well medicated early-stage Sclerosis. Bruh, conservatives are now chanting “Defund the Capitol Police,” which is just pure irony. It was the conservatives that lectured us for criticizing the military, but then attack the military for being open about academic theories being taught, but then also advocate for military action in Cuba, while also both trying to defund and fund the military in a span of a few weeks. It was the conservatives that lectured us about supporting crime, violence, and mob rule when we advocate for “Defunding the Police,” but when their own inflicted injuries and a death upon the Capitol Police, when they break and enter the Capitol, when they interrupt a constitutionally mandated electoral process, and when their own party leaders were complacent in the “violence”; these conservatives now chant “Defund the Capitol Police,” bringing full-circle the fact that these folks lack principles. It was the conservatives that were telling us “snowflakes” to beware of their 6-3 conservative majority Supreme Court, which would finally “defend the Constitution” and be strict about interpreting. Yet, when the Supreme Court ruled in Texas V. Pennsylvania, which was a case where Texas petitioned for the results of at least 4 states won by Biden to be overturned, that the motion violated states rights, so the court would dismiss it outright without hearing it, the conservatives now call the conservative associate justices “secret liberals.” In all these cases, the police, military, and Supreme Court were acting in accordance with conservatives, but because the results aren’t favorable, it’s suddenly that these very institutions are now corrupted by liberalism. It’s a pathetic bait-and-switch. Just yesterday, a conservative was bemoaning the fact that the BLM organization leader used millions to buy a house, which is a bad thing. Yet, fail to condemn Trump, who ran a “Stop the Steal” fundraising effort that raised $70 million, with not a single dime being used for the very thing it was advertised for. I’m not saying that we can’t make mistakes as well, or haven’t made any, but conservative hypocrisy is so well-documented. It’s pathetic.

You already got 4 years Donald, anything that made it out of your term is a mark on your presidency. BLM protests happened on your watch, they were your problems, and now somebody else has to solve them for you because you couldn't.

I REALLY REALLY hope republicans start using this "What about the Routers" talking point as frequently as they did with the "what about her emails" line so I can fill their ears with the relentless Chad laughter of a lefty who has built and rebuilt their own PC multiple times.

40:39 Yea kinda. I mailed in my ballot and was contacted by my county clerk that my signature didn't match my voter registration. My signature has changed over time. I had to go in person to see them and give thing my drivers license and supply an updated signature for future records. The process sucked but my vote was counted so that's what matters.

Can confirm on the moving people over thing. I was independent and don’t care about politics until last year. With Corona and the BLM protests though, I realized I couldn’t be a-political anymore and Vaush was a big part of that for me. My friends who are independent are also pretty a-political but more left leaning (even if they don’t realize it at times). Keep fighting the good fight people!

54:00 This is absolutely the case. Watch pretty much any clip of James O'Brien talking to a right-winger. Whenever he presses them on the details (like when they say "I like what Trump is doing") or to define the word they're using they have NOTHING TO SAY. No details, no policies, no examples, nothing. it's enough if it makes them feel a certain way, they like the presentation of it, sort of how I'd like a rock band in a language I don't understand. Also, as a Slovenian, Vaush's pronounciation of 'Žižek' is actually not that bad 👍
@QT56563 жыл бұрын
54:13 Yes, I agree. A lot of people are stressed by how fast the world is changing (see Adam Curtis documentaries for further details). A lot of voters simply want passion, positivity, and affirmation. Trump gives them that. It's arguably similar to why some seemingly smart people date people that appear frivolous, empty headed, and / or selfish. It's because of the positive spin they can put on everything (even if it's lies).

It’s exactly how Hitler became so popular too. Give a starving country a man promised to bring them back to the wonderful times and they will murder their own people in death camps just to get it back. Weaponized nostalgia is really something

I can't keep track of all the right wing political groups. Which one is turning points, again? Is that the one started by Karl rove? Oh that's crossroads I think. They act like they've been marginalized and that their political speech is oppressed. Yet they have dozens if not hundreds of these groups. I don't really know about too many Democratic party groups like this. These right wing groups are a juggernaut.
@Matthew.E.Kelly.3 жыл бұрын
I think if groups like those started surfacing it would only make it easier to see that the two party duopoly keeps the same group in power 🤷🏻 dems don't want to signal too much of their intentions or go too in depth about their policies & platform because the end goal is the same as the republican policies & platforms: continuance of the dictatorship of capital & the cultural hegemony of the bourgeoisie.

Marco Rubio was called "Rubiobot" for practising too much and being too obvious by repeating the same old line: "There is a common notion that Obama does not know what he is doing, he knows exactly what he is doing" caught by NJ Governor Chris Christie; Charlie is doing the same thing with Trump's hand gestures and the red tie. This is sad.

The German pipeline thing is pretty interesting for several reason. 1st: Germany already gets Russian gas, not via a pipeline but via trucks, there is an overland pipiline from Russia to Poland in place right now (gas gets to Poland via pipiline, gets loaded onto trucks and gets delivered to Germany via trucks) but Poland charges (kinda) a transit fee. The reason for the new pipeline is that the Germans want to cut out the middle man (and save money by that) wich is a huge problem for Poland (one of the most vocal opposers to the pipeline) because they lose a shitton of money. 2nd: is the beef Germany has with the US over the pipeline. This comes due to the fact that after the pipeline was begun, the US got wind of the opposition to the project and saw a chance to make money. The US offered a gas-terminal in Hamburg in order to deliver gas from the US to Germany. Now the problem is a) the US was charging more money than the Russians, b) the pipeline was already underway (i.e. it was already being built), c) the terminal would have been more expansive than the pipeline and d) Germany wanted the US to NEVER deliver them gas obtained via fracking to wich the US basically awnsered "NO, you'll take our fracking shit and you will like it like the people in Murica!" to wich Germany said "Well to bad, if we buy your toxic trash we WILL get buried in the next election becuase we just quit nuclear energy but would replace it with new toxic stuff, people HERE don't like that so fuck off." Since the US still wants to sell its gas it tries to pressure Germany into accepting their proposal by handing out sanctions (not against the German state) to ALL companies involved in the making of the pipeline (on was that none of these companies are allowed to do busines in the US or with companies lokated in the US), this however didn't really bother anyone since most of the companies are either russian or work (almos) exclusively in Europe.

So I work in dementia research, and there is this thing that people with dementia do when you have a conversation with them. Essentially they will forget what the topic of a conversation is and just start talking about something else. A lot of Trump's speech reminds me of this. Now I'm not saying that Trump has dementia. This speech just remind me of someone who has dementia.

Gomar suffers from spasms. But 6 yrs ago he only had them in his one hand. When ppl noticed that & questioned his health, he said he had arthritis & 2 compressed vertebrae in his neck & lower back which have caused “nerve issues.” He added that it requires surgery, which he hadn’t scheduled. He said he’s “healthy as a horse.” Idk, maybe I’m crazy, but I think it’s time to schedule that surgery, right? And if for some reason surgery happens to no longer be an option then it’s getting a whole lot worse & fast. Good news is he won’t be able to serve much longer if it continues to worsen at that rate.

The signature thing is so dumb. It probably resonates with a lot of boomers, I can definitely say my grandpa for example really cared about his personal signature and often told me about how mine isn't "recognizable" enough and it would get me in trouble, meanwhile I'm now 32 and just scribble in random shit every time lmao. Maybe back in the day before computers/etc people were more careful with their signatures.
