Its a collectors item for those who would care, an occasional player, but mostly for framing and putting on a wall. As with all things that are intended to be "collectibles", if there are 1500 units made this year, there will still be 1450 left on earth 35 years from now. Some will be stolen, some destroyed (intentional or unintentional) some maybe even be modified to look slightly different, but most will live a protected life and may only hold their value as opposed to increase in value. Some of these will indeed wind up on-line for a boosted price to entice those who really wanted one but could not get one before being "sold out", until they fall out of fashion altogether. For those wanting to know who makes these, I think you got a good clue with the absence of any "made in xxx" stamp or sticker. Manufacturers will more often than not identify the country of origin on the back of the headstock. The control knobs are not of the "normal" color but rather the lighter gold ones with the bright metal center. I don't think that would be an indicator of manufacturer, rather who ever it is just grabbing those parts out of a bin they would use on other models, they kind of look like SG style knobs to me. I am NOT maga, but I do like the looks of this and since it is a bolt on neck, I would probably replace the maga neck with a more traditional looking one and just keep it for the eagle and flag. Its going to be real interesting to see what you find inside it.

The reason people think bolt on necks are not as good as glued in ones is essentially historical: Fender chose that method because it was a bit cheaper to do, i.e. no need to wait for glue to dry - but the various copy-makers used it on their Gibson copies because you can have slacker tolerances on a joint and have the bolts pull things tight then cover things up with thick paint, whereas there was a bit more finishing work required for a glued in joint. But that last reason was only really cheaper and more of a practical choice when guitars were not cut using CNC; these days you can use CNC and get really tight tolerances. This means that there really is no reason, other than maybe contouring, to not use bolt on construction to save on production time and still have the neck be a very snug fit, so it's really only a hangover from the cheap LP copy days which makes people think it's not going to end up being a decent guitar. Having said that, when you can get a really pretty decent LP copy with a glued in neck for around one hundred quid these days, then throw some better hardware on it and jazz up the electrics for maybe another ton, putting you at the two hundred to two0fifty mark for a pretty damn good LP clone, there's no way that Trump guitar is worth anywhere near fifteen hundred. But that's no surprise really, it's a means to make money - nothing wrong with that if people are prepared to pay the price.

Who the hell would want to collect a Trump guitar ?? Where is the intrinsic value. There is none. A crap guitar is a crap guitar. No amount of endorsement will alter that. As someone who owns 31 quality guitars from Gibsons and Takamine to Warr and Martin, I can say that guitars are judged on their quality of construction, materials used, range of tone and ease of playability and clarity. You certainly wouldn't buy a guitar that's endorsed by someone who doesn't even play a guitar or knows what a good guitar even does. Only a damn fool easily parted from his money would be gullible enough to do that. The only thing that a Trump guitar is good for is firewood. 😮😊😊

Maybe the signed ones will one day be worth something. Without the signature it's just a kitschy giftshop wall ornament for a rather niche audience. I think some of the posters are missing the point of the complaint about rough frets, or maybe I've gotten it wrong. I believe that you are saying the fret crowns are not smooth and polished. Also for not keeping tune, the nut is not the best. You can get it Pleked or do the same job yourself by identifying fret irregularities under string tension with a straight edge and a fret rocker. Once leveled, crowned and polished mirror-smooth, the action can be lowered and neck relief no greater than .008 in. A properly slotted Graphtech TUSQ nut should keep it in tune while playing. Replace all electronics if you want to make it your player. Remember to polish your bridge slots because strings can move a bit back there too. I have always bought cheap and performed that work myself to make great playing guitars. Thank you for your video. Very informative.

Hey dude, you have said the past few Trump Guitar videos that there is no play in the tuners -- just wondering if you assessed that with the string OFF of the tuner or if you are just talking about the smoothness of turning the key while under string tension. I've noticed on a lot of cheap tuners the "play" that can affect the guitars ability to get/stay in tune happens at the actual post where the string sits and this can be a huge problem (ESPECIALLY for non-locking tremolo systems especially like cheapo strats). Best way to assess this is to remove the tuner from the headstock entirely and see if you can wiggle the post/peg without turning the tuning key. Not trying to "Um, actually" you, just genuinely curious if you had done this off-camera or not.

While I agree it's probably a cheap guitar, I don't judge playability until they've been gone over. Also, pickup sound and output is completely subjective. Bravo !! You're doin' it: You're comparing a $350 guitar, with the Trump guitar. Beautiful playing, by the way. Nice and soulful. My first impression is (neck pickup comparison): The Trump guitar has the sound of ceramic magnet pickups (brittle), The Harley Benton has the sound of alnico pickups (clearer, not so driven sounding, great for dynamics. Full bodied sound.) By the way, good job of not putting too much distortion on. So many guys demo guitars with distortion on. You can't really hear what pickups sound like, with the distortion. You have some clarity in your sound. Yes, the pickups on the Trump guitar sound cheaper. But, they could be useful in a mix, where you don't want to compete with another guitar that has a more full sound. About the set neck vs glued: Yes, I'm glad that you addressed that issue. You stated the facts, well. Either method holds the neck to the body well, and attaching it to the body is the real issue. I've read that with modern manufacturing techniques, it's no more expensive to make a glued in neck, than it is to make one held on by wood screws. The advantage with the one held on by wood screws, of course, is that, for luthiers, taking the neck off to do fret work, is big advantage. And, for Fender style guitars, you can get replacement necks, if needed. The screwed on neck was a great idea. I think that preference between the two types of attachments, boils down to aesthetics: If you like a sculptured look, and one that is seamless, then a glued in neck work for you. If I'm not mistaken the Ibanez guitars that were the law suit guitar (which Gibson was afraid of), many of which, had necks held on by wood screws. They were so well built that Gibson, really was concerned about them. Fuji Genn did a great job making these guitars. About this whole video, you did a great job with it. It's informative, truthful, and entertaining. Thank you for making it, and I apologize for my aggressive tone, in pervious posts with you. Guitars are a passionate subject. I'll look forward to more of your videos. Good work (PS: Your slow playing is more impressive than your fast playing. Fast minor pentatonic scale stuff is really shop worn. A few "jazz notes" might spruce up your playing. I don't know if you work with these, but I think that they'd add interest to your sound. You have a really nice feel to your playing. Your work with guitars and God given aptitude, shows. ) By the way, I would take either of those guitars to gig with. Most people are not that discerning in sound. Either one of them is good enough to gig with. Add some EQ and some reverb, and you'd have a sound quite good enough for most audiences. I never take guitars worth more than $250 out to a gig. No one has ever stopped me and said: Quit playing... your guitar is not expensive enough. Remember: Your playing is in your fingers and your mind. If you play well, no one will care what your guitar cost. Here is an example of a $200 Squier Sonic Series Strat, that I'm using on a winery gig, video. kzbin.info7ZfJUDXJ5AQ

Glued necks take longer to assemble. Even CNC cut joints often need sanding to make them fit. Then they actually need to be glued, fitted and clamped. Then the joint needs to dry. It is a slower and therefore more expensive process. It’s not intrinsically better but the only reason not to do it on a LP type guitar is to make it cheaply. That’s why only the least expensive Epiphones have a bolt on neck. Same with Harley Benton. The €109 guitar has a bolt on neck. The €129 guitar is glued. 1.5k for a bolt on necked Les Paul is beyond sleazy.
