Signed by President John Adams & Ratified UNANIMOUSLY, by the Senate June 10, 1797* ....only a few times in history the Senate unanimously agreed on anything. A 2018 Supreme Court Ruling re-affirmed this statement, from The Treaty of Tripoli. The Supreme Court released an opinion on May 14, 2018 in Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Assn., 584 U. S. (2018), Justice Thomas in his concurring opinion wrote: _"The Treaty of Tripoli was passed by the Senate and signed into law by President John Adams. As such, it is a "legislated text" which must be read "textually". The lower courts in this case read a hypothetical legislative intention into the text by dismissing Article 11 as "a mere formality". _*_The language itself makes a clear direct statement that our government is not based on the Christian religion and any attempt by a government official to represent our government as Christian contradicts the text and the historical understanding of our founders."_*

Modern scholars say the Queen of Sheba came from Ethiopia. 1st century scholar, Josephus said the Queen of Sheba ruled over Ethiopia and Egypt as well. The Kebra Negast, the origin story of the Ethiopian Royal family describe the Queen of Sheba as the beloved spoken of in the song of Soloman as "black and beautiful." This story and other accounts credit the Queen of Sheba as bringing Judaism to Ethiopia. This would make it unlikely that David and the Queen of Sheba were both rulers or even residents of Ethiopia within a given span of time.

Great topic and interesting guest. Along these lines of class, race, religion and the imperative need for our nation and democracy to survive and succeed, it’s imperative to have a true understanding for those less or more fortunate no mater of ones race, color, gender or religious beliefs. At a young age speaking to an older man in church, who I discovered that day was as a lawyer, a former state legal counsel to a past governor and who had many years of experience in both the private sector as well as in the federal, state and local political arena. What he said stuck with me and look back on as inspiration and hope in times like these. He shared how he choose to raise his family in a poor section of the city even though he could afford much more; not for financial gain but rather to benefit his children then and later in their lives in ways money cannot buy.

Religion has always been about exerting control over every aspect of life, be it commerce, politics, sexuality or relationships. It makes perfect sense for someone like Trump to try to use it for his own benefit.

That is why religion was invented. What better way to control the masses than to threaten them with eternal damnation. I put no stock in religion. By the word religion, through the ages we have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called _the will of God._ Holiness is in right action and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves. When conservatism is mixed with theocracy and autocracy, that is how countries end up with characters such as Popes, Ayatollahs, Taliban, ISIS, Hamas, Hitler, Kings, or Queens like Bloody Mary, Osama Bin Ladin, and ALQUIDA, or any other half-assed dictator who tries to dictate who and what 'religion' you should worship, and punish you if you don't. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says that everyone in the United States has the right to practice his or her own religion, or no religion at all. Our United States is NOT A CHURCH.

Many (most?) Christians did, in fact, become Christians when they were minors, at a time in their lives when they lacked the critical thinking skills to question what was being forced upon them. Later, as adults, they are so closely identified with their beliefs that any dissenting idea is perceived as an attack on them, personally. Here in the US, atheists are one of the most vilified demographics in the country. And yet atheism is not so much an actual belief as it simply the absence of one. One of my dearest old friends whom I went to college with is, today, a church organist. They are, in fact, also an atheist, but still got a masters degree in divinity in order to have their job. I've seen self professed Evangelical ministers on TV preaching the Gospel of Donald Trump, but when the host pointed out that Trump's teachings were the opposite of what Jesus said in the 4 Gospels of the New Testament, the ministers said that Jesus was being "Too Woke". What does it feel like to spout nonsense as if you believe it? Or in the worse case scenario what does it feel like to believe whatever you are told by a cult leader and his pr team? While as a liberal I agree we are getting to many immigrants in the wrong way. That said I also know they are desperate human beings and deserve to be treated with respect.
