“That American can now dream again.” Yes, this was honestly the immediate reaction I had on learning of Trump’s election-a sense of imagination and possibility coming alive again. I was reading Walt Whitman the few weeks before the election, and I caught moments and glimpses of the kind of vital pulse of America that he was overflowing with. Not phony jingoism or forced patriotism, but something greater than that. It is all a sigh of relief at the very least, the kind of sighing relief that brings the life back into you.

@@b.alexanderjohnstone9774 Thank you and I agree! I think Whitman is very relevant now (not that he was ever irrelevant) and many others I’m sure. Also, pretty recently it was discovered that Whitman wrote a series of newspaper columns under a pseudonym that are not far off from what somebody like a Raw Egg Nationalist might write. Very interesting.

The change in the Zeitgeist this past week reminds me of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the USSR. In contrast with the happy faces of the _Vremya_ newsreaders, who were wondering what it might be like not to lie for a living, the faces of the US regime's media ranged from apoplectic to morose. As we know, the people of the former USSR have had a few bumps along the path to national renewal since that time. No doubt the people of the USA are in for a few changes in the days ahead. They voted for it, against the full-spectrum efforts of the ruling elites. None of the institutions support Trump, just dissident individuals (some of great personal capability) who have been harassed or cast out by the ruling regime. Trump has better cards in his MtG deck this time, and the genuine support of a majority of the non-elite. I hope he succeeds. At the very least, I don't expect him to quit.

The foundation of global liberal hegemonic power was largely constructed through neo-feudalistic corporatism, technocracy, oligarchy, and similar ideologies. Each of these systems aims to centralize control over individuals, treating them as isolated entities by disconnecting them from their own independent norm-forming communities.

Colonialism, in a nutshell.
@Michaelfrikkie
@Michaelfrikkie Ай бұрын
@@Badbentham Actually feudalism is the opposite of colonialism. If you have a truly independent norm-forming community able to rule itself and choose your own ruling ideology, you might well choose a kind of feudalism, but liberal hegemony does not allow any other power structures than a universal liberal empire
@Badbentham
@Badbentham Ай бұрын
@Michaelfrikkie True; feudalism at its core is based on the premise of smaller, self-ruling, entities, while the final goal of Liberalism is a global super-structure, ruling with divide-and- conquer: In that very specific sense, I can understand the opposition of the "neo-feudal" South against Washington DC 's liberalism /clear colonialist ambitions during the US civil war.
@Michaelfrikkie
@Michaelfrikkie Ай бұрын
@@Badbentham I don't think the initial ideas which won out in the Civil War were universalist like modern liberalism. But you are correct in identifying it as the seeds of what became post-WWII Liberal Global Hegemony. The cause of most of our problems today.

I was thinking that this felt like another "end of history" moment. I remember feeling the last one, when the Berlin Wall fell, and using that phrase in my own mind before I ever heard anyone put it into those words. This isn't the end of history, but it feels similarly...millennial? Let's savor these next few minutes.

It's exciting to hear about big building projects again in America instead of gloomy industrial suffocation. It seemed like all the great projects were happening in the Middle East and China. Without the fear of destroying the environment, it will be interesting to see if we will get some impressive new architecture projects and infrastructure in America again.

Hello Michael, I quite enjoy your videos. You have inspired me to dig deeper and learn about the movement as an outsider. I find the perspective that you (and by extension the thinkers that channel through you) to be intriguing and testing. I have been a follower for a few months now. But, I am an outsider and reading all the comments in this thread, how inspired and optimistic they are, I feel like a challenger might be necessary. Everyone here has the zeal of a revolutionary and that scares me. The sentiments of salvation and being a part of History (capital intended) gives me pangs of Jacobins or Bolsheviks. The last 50 years of history have seen the greatest increase in the material quality of life and liberty for the most amount of people EVER and the formula for that success was neoliberal democratic capitalism. The Washington Consensus (or New World Order or Liberal World Order or Rules Based International Order etc.) of individual liberty, free markets and private property has brought us in North America and Europe a previously unimaginable era of stability and wealth generation. Will this "Epochal Shift" give us the liberating American Revolution or the terror of the French Revolution? But this time the consequences global and the stakes global nuclear destruction? When the "Regime" is replaced what will it be replaced with? (Not to say that I believe Trump nor these people that he surrounds himself with will actually be able to overthrow it.) Will they replace our current institutions with new ones that fulfill the People with a sense of Meaning and Virtue? Personally, I wager that this movement is people who are dissatisfied or contrarian filling the perceived god-shaped-hole in themselves and society with a fiery brand of right-wing politics that will only end up corrupting those who fill that hole with Trump, an indelicate, crude, degenerate and small man. I only hope that our polity is not corrupted along with them. And I believe that if this movement succeeds we will be poorer, less free and wishing for a return to the Golden Age, the age of neoliberal democratic capitalism.

I am just starting the video, so haven't listened yet, but just on the title yes, I feel like this is a huge cultural shift and not just electoral. I think a lot of people have felt pressured by this woke collectivist bs, especially in blue areas, or especially in social groups with women that feel the need to humor them and not challenge them, and have felt alone. I think those people woke up on the fifth and realized they aren't as alone as the collectivists try to make anyone who isn't like them see.I think a lot of people have been made to feel like they are alone, and perhaps even, different, than everyone else, but have come to find that isn't so. Wokeism really was a mass psychosis. How do we know, when we say this, that it is true and we aren't just projecting narcissistic weirdos ourselves? Cus the sense of mass relief, togetherness, and good will.

I see Trump as closely resembling Andrew Jackson (history rhymes, as the saying goes.) Both are populists. Both ran against entrenched elites. Both had a strong animus towards the federal bureaucracy. Both want to limit the economic range of the state. Of course there are differences. But I think an historical comparison to Jackson is fruitful and illuminates Trump's appeal.

I don't know if you have talked much about your views on China. I’m curious about how you determined that Trump is putting together a strong team. Rubio and Gabbard have strong, public disagreements that are irreconcilable. RFK Jr has no political weight in Washington. 40/44 cabinet members from his previous administration refused to endorse him for 2024, and we’re already seeing those cracks again. The fundamental hurdle for Trump’s original presidency was his lack of ideology and administrative expertise. None of that has changed.
