In the new section of her policy remarks that Harris helped craft in Ghana, the vice president reflected on the stories, cultures and traditions she learned from her family in Zambia, where her grandfather had worked in the 1960s alongside newly independent people, and where she had visited as a young girl. “The values that guided my relatives when they were there, and the legacy of their efforts, remain a source of pride for my entire family and continue to animate my work today,” Harris, the daughter of an Indian mother and a Black Jamaican father, said.

@@drumyogi9281Agreed. They should've been asking how his policies will benefit Black America. The majority of us don't care about a politician's personal feelings towards us. We care about them doing RIGHT BY US. Like creating programs designed to advance us as a collective, not policies that will harm us. We've been pushing for a long time for hate crime protections for Black Americans in this nation, so we aren't 'ended' in our own kitchens for rebuking someone in the name of Jesus (Rip S. Massey🥀). Why not talk about these things with the ONLY presidential candidate who agreed to sit down with us? Especially when the current administration has ignored us & has refused to address any of our concerns on this topic. And a sizable portion of Blk Americans care about the reparations conversation & would've liked to hear from the candidate's own mouth what his stance on it, whether he's for it or against it. His team likely prepped him for all these questions, considering they've listened when Blk Americans have said Kamala seems to jump in & out of her 'Blackness' when it's beneficial to her. He gave them a full hour to address things important to us & they had his ear for at least 30 mins (due to their own lateness), but they accomplished nothing for Black Americans, smh.
