Wokeness began when corporations co-opted Occupy Wall Street in 2011 with crazy people who'd later become known as SJW's. Then BLM formed in 2013 after the George Zimmerman thing. Then they tested mainstream media gaslighting with Gamergate in 2014. Ghostbusters then did Virtue Shielding in 2016. And 2020 is when things went insane with the Summer of Love. It's been a gradual build over the past 12 years.

You forgot 2008, when Obama took office he allowed all these SJW/DEI non-profits proliferate, along with allowing people like Soros to buy judges and legislators to enact woke policies across the board. This started earlier than Occupy. If you go back far enough, you could say the infiltration began in the 19060's with the slow takeover of higher education. Now it's filtering down to elementary school. This has been a long march through the institutions. Their words, not mine.

My sister was a cast member at Disney in Florida, working a job she loved. But she quit in 2020 because of all the DEI/ESG madness. She'd been there several years and saw it creeping in the entire time. It finally became too much. When I asked, she said she quit because The Happiest Place On Earth wasn't fun anymore.

The first time I saw this PC and woke culture was in 2014 after I saw what was happening to the Howard stern show. There was a woman named Marcy Turk. She came in and absolutely destroyed that show and his character. She was another one of those installed woman who scare you into submission. People were so angry because he became so soft, censored, sanitized and PC after. Well, now you see what happened to him. He is the direct opposite of what he was. This was nationwide being rolled out.

Disney relies on "once in a lifetime" visits where families have saved their whole lives to set foot in the park. They don't have much time and may not have done the necessary research to get the best value, so they end throwing money at every little problem for it to go away. It's the same principle as gacha games and fifa ultimate team. A few whales can make up for hundreds of others priced out. The problem was that annual pass where for a flat rate, people can spend a few hours in the park, ride a few attractions, and go home. That's not a direct return on investment, but they can't exactly get rid of it entirely because that's cutting off a popular revenue stream, so they found a way to pay wall useful features behind expensive, limited tiers. All this does is screw over the consumer, but that's how business work.
@phattjohnson4 күн бұрын
I'm yet to meet anybody who's "saved their whole life" to set foot in Disneyland. To put a deposit down on a homeloan? Sure! Plenty of tourists will gladly check Disneyland out (those are the 'whales' you mention) but "saved their whole life" I'm just not buying sorry.
@theotherjared98244 күн бұрын
@phattjohnson Some people don't have the opportunities most others have, so money is a big deal for them. Skimming pennies off of each paycheck might be unreasonable for their living situation. Many around the world can literally only go to a disney park once in a lifetime, and the miracle of being there clouds their judgement to the point of putting out fires with cash.
@AmericanAdvancement3 күн бұрын
@@phattjohnsonMany of those whales are from overseas, people who normally would never visit Florida but for Disney. More popular tourist destinations in America are NYC, LA, Las Vegas, and Seattle so going to Florida is out of the way for most.

Disney has been propaganda for a long time now. It's just not been as blatantly obvious in the past as it is today. Disney went from singing about seeking general happiness, defeating the cartoonishly evil old villain, true love and romance to how material possessions won't make you happy (The Little Mermaid) and the mentality behind being in the closet or even trans (Mulan). The song "Reflection" from Mulan is almost blatantly on the nose about it with lyrics such as "no one knows who I am, must there be a secret me, I'm forced to hide? Must I pretend that I am someone else for all time? When will my reflection show, who I am, inside?" This has been going on for decades. It just became obvious to a much larger portion of the general public in the past decade or so with the rise of all the identity politics and crazies who crawled out of the woodwork.
