🙋‍♀️I was one of those people who lost their healthcare because of Trump. When he removed the ACA requirement, my state dumped me. I was forced to quit my job because I needed the healthcare coverage more than I needed the job. I’m disabled but not “disabled enough for disability benefits” to kick in. The ACA allowed me to work and have healthcare coverage under Medicare. But I lost when Trump removed the mandate. Eventually I had to go back to work so I became an “out of pocket insurer” now I have multiple lawsuits against me by local hospitals and doctors offices.

I totally hear what you're saying, but I can give my real-world experience with Liz Cheney. My mom voted Republican her whole life, but adores Liz Cheney for calling out Trump. It will work for some voters, but I also don't see her endorsement changing people from Harris to Trump. If anything, people may be more at the 'I'll hold my nose while I vote Harris". One endorsement won't move the needle significantly - hell, Trump had the Epstein endorsement (photos of them together) and that didn't hurt him. It won't push away significant numbers of people - Trump is CLEARLY more of a threat and people know it. Love the show bud!

There was a comment on a Rational National video covering the Tim Walz interview with John Stewart. In it, the poster made two points: 1. Acquiring the backing of well known or respected Republicans is less about getting the support of their base, and more about opening the avenue to their base. Its about these people whom hold sway over the conservative voters base and telling them "it is fine to vote for Harris. At this current moment, Democracy is more important than Policy. 2. Harris and Walz bragging about upper tier Republicans voting for them is not the same thing as conceding to give them what they want. This whole strategy is based on a single vote issue, and they know it, hence why these supporters all say the same thing. I feel this whole situation with the lefty KZbin sphere has gotten to the point where the purity test is voiding any nuanced discussion on strategy or logic.
