I hope we all know that it doesn't matter who is in the 'top job' because this is a systemic problem -- greed. We have allowed many of our economic sectors, to take advantage of the American people. We are absolutely worried that SSI will no longer be funded under Trump. we'll have to rely on his pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific lnvestment account with my Tracy Britt Cool Consulting my FA. DEI doesn’t solve the problem. Here’s why: If getting into better universities is based on having access to better resources and school growing up then the answer isn’t lowering the standards to allow a few underprivileged students in but rather INCREASE the standard of public education for underprivileged kids. Give parents the choice to take their kids to better schools instead of making it illegal to take your child to a better school in another zip code. Lowering standards/requirements to create diversity is lose lose situation. Because the real problem isn’t fixed and it’s just slapping on a bandaid.
@Bmrk34910 күн бұрын
It’s actually harmful to minorities
@protoman121410 күн бұрын
While I agree that raising the standard is important. .. the problem with affirmative action is that it doesn't actually account for people who actually grow up with less resources, it just assumes you were disadvantaged by your race. If they had a more specific way of vetting people for preference into schools, poor white people would also benefit. I would be okay with that. But the way it stands is completely broken and racist. Currently, you could be the son of a billionaire and still get an advantage for school admission just because you are black... that is utterly ridicilous.

Another thing I think lost the dems the race, is the fact that women aren’t willing to talk about how abortion rights affect men as well. Yeah “it’s my body, my choice,” but men have to hear the whole “it takes two to make a kid” argument every time the topic of child support comes up, but we are kept out of the abortion conversation because it’s not “our body.” Imaging being a man who has always wanted a kid, and having no say when the woman goes to abort it. Imagine being a man who does not want a kid, but BOTH people made a mistake, and now he has no choice but to pay child support for 18 years or go to jail. The issue is, abortion DOES affect men. Until the left wants to have that conversation, they are going to hemorrhage male voters.

I gotta say I agree with that stance. Meanwhile there’s something weird about seeing a guy fervently support abortion rights. So I’m being a bit inconsiderate (maybe even sexist against men) when I think that way , but you’re right abortion/pregnancy does affect the men. And this is in a case between two consenting adults.

27:35 I voted for Bernie Sanders in all primaries he was in! The Dems fucked him over and I voted for Jill Stein, then caved and voted for Biden but his administration was ass so I voted for Trump.

Interesting. I wrote in Bernie twice and then voted Stein here in PA this election
@CashCultura10 күн бұрын
@@LeftWingNationalist my logic for voting Trump was that there were zero wars under him and there was more economic prosperity under him plus hated all the political persecution bs plus the censorship - Dems are fucked. They need to go back to populist mode and Pete Bootygig Mr. McKinsey who loves to raise prices and lay off people, is not that.

14:40 perception, I’ve understood these guys since the beginning. This idea of having conversations is awesome. People just assume the best or in some cases the worst. I also like the finger pointing amongst each other. It’s very entertaining, but they don’t let that get in the way of each other‘s friendship. If the whole United States were to speak like these gentlemen I think we could be in a better place.

Here's an example of equity in college applications being bad. I grew up extremely poor in a wealthy zip code. I did not have tutors, I went to public school. And I got better grades than 95% of applicants in my state, however I was directly competing with the extremely rich kids in my area, some of which had better scores than me. The state school I applied to denied me, while accepting plenty of worse candidates from other zip codes (surely many better as well), but I was a white male from a rich area who was not in the top 1% of scores so I was denied. This means I couldn't get in state tuition and was forced to go elsewhere for school and take loans, or defer my college and try again next year.

I'm Latino, had a 4.3 GPA in HS, and couldn't get into my school of choice. I went the community college route and it still took 2 attempts to transfer before finally getting in. When I'm finally there I find out lots of people got in with low 3's as their GPA, people got in without any architecture classes or experience in HS (I did). Race may have played a part for you but I'll tell you it didn't help for me. The way schools decide who gets accepted is eff'ed.
