Like you didnt need to go at all and there were almost no back last. Heavily due to teachers being new to the virtual education stuff. So they likely mean 2 years bc there was a second year of no physical school. After year 2 stuff was pretty much back to normal. You’re correct about school reopenings during COVID. At most, in even the most precautionary school districts, schools were not closed for more than a year (March 2020- March 2021). I was a teacher at the time who had a little strife over the return to the building mandate, so this one is still very clear in my not always great memory.
