Problem is Zelensky passed a law stating that No One can "negotiate" with Russia. Secondly, Zelensky is not recognised as the legitimate leader of Ukraine. Until there are elections in Ukraine and a bone fide leader is established, there is no one to negotiate with. Besides, Ukraine [original boundaries] are part of the Soviet Union and therefore legally Russian - Ban Ki-moon said that in the UN General assembly and that is why the operation there is called a Special Military Operation and not a War - you cannot wage war against yourself.
