Elon is put off investing in South Africa as do other international investors because of our requirements under BEE rules. BEE that only benefit politicians, their families and ANC business donors. They would rather let these investors walk away because they not getting a slice of the pie instead of letting investors come in to create jobs for the unemployed. SA needs to take a hard look at reality, we are but one country competing against many countries for investment. Not only other African countries, but Asia, Far East, south America, Middle East and even Western countries. The UK is going all out to attract investment. The ANC needs to ask what makes SA so special that an investor will agree to BEE shares to invest in this country when they can easily invest elsewhere without any such demands. SA needs investors, investors don't need SA.

The point is that our country is being put at a disadvantage as far as investment is concerned due to these BEE laws that only benefit one class of black people, the elites and the ANC goons and their buddies that is, while the rest of us feel the pinch of unemployment due partially to the restrictions that come with BEE and how that red tape deters foreign investors from investing in our country and in turn creating more jobs which would boost our economy. You may want to avoid corruption, but efficiency is not always good for the people of SA.
