We already have over 200,000 deaths from covid19 during the past 6 months. And, the covid19 virus is creating residual health issues like inflamation of the heart, scarring of the lungs, and deterioration of the brain for example. They are just discovering recurrence issues in addition to ongoing heath issues some people are experiencing. Flu does not have these types of residual health issues. Plus, we have a vaccine to help with flu and are still waiting on a viable, safe vaccine for covid19. Thank goodness for the doctors, nurses, and scientists who are working hard to gather the scientific data and determine correct treatments and a vaccine for covid19. We are lucky to have them.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. My a couple of my folks' friends were a married couple who were both nurses. They were at retirement age, but continued working help coronavirus patients knowing the danger of the coronavirus. They both contracted the virus. The husband survived, but the wife died. The media has stop telling you that nurses and doctors are getting covid-19 left and right and nurses are 3 to 4 times more likely to get coronavirus than doctors, because they're around the coronavirus patients more. So seeing and hearing covid-19 deniers and face mask deniers makes me sick. Vote right or our country may fall even more.

My mom and me are disabled and she was briefly in an assisted living facility. At least half of COVID deaths in this country have been in nursing homes and other residential facilities for elderly and disabled people. My mom is still friends with some of the residents via phone and social media, and through lockdowns they have been prisoners as the staff fail to follow safety and sanitation guidelines and keep passing COVID to the residents. Healthcare workers and elderly and disabled people, especially low-income elderly and disabled people in facilities with poor quality care, have been sacrificed to the virus in this country. My mom and I are still in strict isolation. I wish we had lived in New Zealand where they took the virus seriously and completely locked down. I am fine with sacrificing personal freedom for public health because that's the only way to keep high-risk people alive.

It's difficult for high school students, especially juniors and seniors, because they are applying to colleges and need their grades and other things to apply. There are also taking college entrance exams and they need to be prepared for that. It would be a huge loss if students had to delay college for one year. We are just not prepared for this. I do think this will cause some major changes in the way we educate students and I do not think that is a bad thing. We have needed education reform for quite a long time. But getting students the equipment they need (computers) and making sure they have an on-line connection is challenging in many places.

Yeah, it absolutely affects nobody, until it affects one of your own. One of my friend's parents were infected in May. They're no longer COVID positive. But there have been very serious consequences. Her dad, who was already partially paralyzed from a stroke he had had a few years ago, is now completely paralyzed. He needs 24/7 care. Her mom has had a psychotic break for reasons the doctors cannot explain. That sweet soft spoken lady now tries to hit anyone who comes near her, breaks anything she can get her hands on, tries to walk out of the house at all hours; etc. I can see my friend reaching her breaking point. I'm afraid she'll soon have a breakdown from all the stress! So, yeah, it virtually affects no one. Until it affects YOU!
