Americans need to be very vigilant against discrimination in hiring. Period. That one is against DEI doesn't actually mean that they are going to hire people entirely on merit. Someone may still be denied a job by an employer who considers race as a factor. You may have an employer who thinks because a person is black he probably got the previous position mentioned in the resume as a DEI hire. So many scenarios are possible.

Why do you consider diversity, equity and inclusivity discrimination? You know that up until recently, minorities and people with disabilities had difficulty getting positions over their peers, even when they were the best candidate. Ila Eckhoff has cerebral palsy, and was a managing director at BlackRock. She had to obtain more education than her peers and hide her disability just to be able to get a job. People made assumptions when they saw her and didn't want to hire her. DEI is about considering all people fairly, and not making hiring decisions based upon preconceived discrimination.

If you take two equally qualified with same experience and everything but one of them have a muslim name or an african name, then 9 out of 10 times the other person is hired. Even if the muslim or african is more qualified and has more experience then it is still more likely that the other person gets the job.

Like if you come from a house where no one makes over $12k annually but test well and have no criminal convictions there should be some program in place that makes it possible for you to get the training so you can escape that hell.

My youngest son is a chemist, living and working on Spain, but at one time he worked for one of the largest chemical companies in the USA. He was told that he could no longer rise through the ranks because they would not put white men in those positions anymore. His SUPERVISOR OBVIOUSLY failed chemistry when she was in college, because she had no idea what my son was doing and was constantly asking him questions. He finally stopped listening to her and just told her what he would be doing that day, ignoring her. After he was told he would not be promoted, the Government of Spain jumped on it and their head-hunters found him. He has had so many opportunities for advancement since moving to Spain and is about to have two PhDs!. American companies want him back. This DEI crap has literally ruined companies. The government and people of Spain DO NOT SUPPORT ANY OF THIS WOKE NONSENSE.

I use to get great raises, had great career mobility able to advance up the ladder rungs. But then my employer became obsessed with DEI and my entire career stagnated because I am a white male. For years now I have just sat in a position well beneath my pay grade and well beneath my knowledge (because they have no ability to fire a performer such as me) laughing to myself as I enjoy the constant repeat show of failure from these people who get brought in to run things based on their skin color or sexuality (I am a homosexual, but I haven't ever told my job this even though it'd benefit me) or obvious left leaning political beliefs just burning the department to the ground.

Is HR a core competency? Is it a profit center? DEI was a coerced HR based initiative that management went along with lest they be labeled “racist”. That is the insipid and pernicious coercive nature of the growing cancer called DEI. It was coercion by the Federal Government first. Then, unabated, DEI insinuated itself into every department and became an anchor around management’s neck. They were stuck with inferior hires and a morass of paperwork. Management went along to get along. CEOs, Executive VPs (save HR) and managers welcome tearing out DEI by its roots so they can get back to their core competency, but more, so they might cull back the wasted dollars and apply that money toward profit centers within the business. Management would love nothing more than to put the Human Resources Department, who has confiscated, through DEI, power and influence way beyond its deserving, back in its rightful place.
