Ok I’m gonna be honest here VP. I had never traded forex before I watch your first video. I went through every single video, every single podcast, every single blog and when I finally decided to ask you a question the ask VP was down. Im still here, being relentless and not being lazy. This is my 5th month simulating and even though we had the worst dead market in 10 years, I still somehow managed to come out green every single month. I don’t know how to thank you, VP. You definitely changed my life.

The risk management offsets this I’ve found. As you have taught, and mentioned your mentor from ICT said, a 50/50 trader with stellar risk management will still be profitable. My win rate over the past 5 months in forward testing has been around 52%, not that great, and yet my profits have been very good. The no nonsense risk management is by far the most valuable part of the system. I transitioned from focusing on the algorithm to focusing more on risk management over the past few months, and wow has it made all the difference. I have three exit strategies now, and they are proving to be the most valuable part of the system. I’m joining a firm tomorrow, after months of research, careful consideration, backtesting and demo trading, and the info from the prop firm video. I found one months ago which is similar to funded-traders, but which I think is a little better. The real challenge is their 4% drawdown rule, which most of these firms have. But I’ve managed to stay above a 4% drawdown over the past 9 weeks by focusing of the risk management strategies, so I think I’m ready. As always, thank you for giving us this system Patrick! To think of how much money I might have spent trying to find a good system, and that you have taken the time to give us this content for free, it’s hard to believe. When I am a career trader in the future, as long as it may take, I’m going to hunt you down in Vegas to say thank you in person!

I love it Phil! And the more you're able to up that percentage little by little over time, it's just going to get even better. But you are living proof how MM wins the day in the long term.

No Nonsense Forex yeah, at some point I’ll go back and see if there are some changes I can make to the settings to get that perfectly tuned machine. Right now I don’t want to mess with it since I’m in the evaluation phase with the prop firm, and I know what I have works, even at just over 50%. I have followed the two trade rule to the letter. That’s the magic of the system.

The best thing to do on the long term is, avoid the USD pairs most of the time and their correlations. Yeah they've got better volume or liquidity but the risk of manipulation by institutional traders and unscheduled news is much higher and can put to rubbish a wonderfully crafted algorithm. I use the USD pairs and their correlations mainly to test and tweak my algorithm. If it keeps giving results with them, then I believe it's fantastic with the non-USD pairs and their correlations. Thanks once more VP for a re-awakening video.

Just came by to say thank you VP. I'm a student and I've been struggling with trading last year when I started. I knew everything when it came to support and resistance(and all that crap). When I stumbled on your channel my whole mindset and overall view of the market completely changed. You are my ONE AND ONLY MENTOR. And I am glad to say that, in the past two months I managed to DOUBLE my account. I bearly ever lose trades and I'm more confident with my system. I use a strict money management plan and I tend to catch all those big trends. I've watched every single vid and will continue to improve my system. THANK YOU.

At the beginning, I was obsessed with indis that get me into trades, 9 months later, I am now with indis that can accurately (well, as much as it possibly can) stop me from getting into trades. Thanks again VP. "Less is more" - Mies van der Rohe, this architectural catch phrase also applies in forex world.

VP - I am using an algorith largely based upon your teaching, and I am totally avoiding pound, and very careful with USD and EUR. I used to concentrate on these 3. Now I am making money finally, thanks. And the system works also perfectly on ZAR pairs, but I am based in South Africa for many years.

I’m sorry this is not on/topic, but using the Kijun-Sen seems to be the best baseline to a lot of traders here, even VP. Which setting should we put the Kijun-Sen on? The default is 26. I have tried it between 26 and 16. I am still however undecided. Anybody (including VP) have an opinion on which Kijun-Setting works best?

“The chief task in life is simply this: to identify and separate matters so that I can say clearly to myself which are externals not under my control, and which have to do with the choices I actually control. Where then do I look for good and evil? Not to uncontrollable externals, but within myself to the choices that are my own . . .” Epictetus. Epictetus was a slave. Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor. Seneca was a power broker and playwright. We can learn from these three men. As always VP thanks for bringing up Stoicism.

That's why you need to have an indicator that will tell you crystal clear if it's up/down trending, enter and exit. Sometimes it's during that day you must exit and enter again.If you ride then huge advantage for you and those pip gaps goes to your pocket (wink2x)!

I just got through Ch 8 of Trading in the Zone, where we’re told that the only thing - the ONLY thing we can reasonably expect from the market is randomness. All you can do is consistently place yourself in a position where your testing has told you that you should win more times than not and then accept that win/loss trades are based on a random distribution of outcomes. If you can accept that, then there is no room for expectation and the sense that something is being taken away from you when those expectations are not fulfilled. Trade smart, tribe mates.

I think this is very relevant to future trading. Other politicians are likely to pick up on tweeting more often, even if they don't operate the same way or understand it's impact. This is not going away, is my bet. So avoiding the USD may not help us.

I literally had to talk my friend off the ledge of setting forex % trading goals. She said she wants to double her account. I was like WTF? In what span of time? Then detailed to her exactly how unrealistic and suicidal that would be. Even if it’s just a $100 account, yea sure technically it can be done. But this market has only recently been trending the past few months and even still its choppy as hell. The position size she’d have to put on each trade would be astronomical. Even one lost trade would set her back significantly and she’d need to double up just to get back to even from that loss. Rinse and repeat the tragic death spiral. Honestly it wouldn’t even have to be because of a stop loss. It could be simply because of not enough margin from too many trades open. Trump certainly doesn’t give any stability to this market so even one tweet could wipe you out at any random hour if you’re trading on lower time frames.
@NoNonsenseForex5 жыл бұрын
People with small account feel like there's no other choice but to try and double up. That's why as unpopular as it was, I told people in ep 33 with small accounts to not trade them.
