You ever see that scene in "The Sopranos" where Carmella's therapist brings her face to face with just how shitty Tony really is? I'd love to see a short film, preferably with the same actor, that riffs off that. But instead of Carmella discussing Tony, it's a GOP Senator discussing Trump. Hell, some of the dialog from the original scene could be used verbatim. Like, "You tell me he's a depressed criminal, prone to anger, serially unfaithful. Is that your definition of a good man?" Or, "You must trust your initial impulse and consider leaving him. You'll never be able to feel good about yourself-- you'll never be able to quell the feelings of guilt and shame that you talked about-- so long as you're his accomplice." And of course, "One thing you can never say is that you haven't been told."

@dailynews5683
@dailynews5683 3 ай бұрын
@@misterman2830 I'd argue that 'being ghetto' is a sub culture in its own right, and those raised in it celebrate it as being the norm. Of course people raised in that environment have it harder and are oppressed, but there is a difference between having class or not. Look at Trevor Noah for instance. Raised in a poor South African environment yet still exudes class. The same can't be said for a lot of black folks from the ghetto in the states. That's besides the point, though. I hate the fact that when people in this country think of a black man or woman, they first think 'ghetto'. You have to prove yourself first before the greater society will accept you as just a regular black person like Marques Keith Brownlee.

@egalitarian-rex
@egalitarian-rex Ай бұрын
@DubElementMusic, The coming election here in the USA will have consequences that go beyond the intellectual capacity of many Americans to understand. We have been negligent about educating our citizens. Civics, World History and US History are barely present in the curriculum being taught. City and State taxes collected for funding our free public schools are in many cases being given to parents who wish to educate their children at home. This practice is quite common among religious fanatics and political extremists. This leaves our public schools underfunded and results in direct indoctrination of a sub segment of our children into right wing extremism. These are the people who voted for a completely unqualified man to occupy the White House. The majority of our citizens remain unaware of the broad and far reaching powers vested in our president. Our founders didn’t imagine a world where a completely amoral, poorly educated, mentally disturbed man like Trump would be able to attain widespread appeal or be taken seriously in our national politics. The US Constitution established three co-equal branches of Federal Government with checks and balances to maintain that equilibrium. When our House of Representatives, under Democrat control, voted twice to impeach President Trump and our Senate, under the control of a Republican majority, refused twice to convict him of the charges, it allowed what we have today which is his candidacy for president. If the spineless self-serving Republicans had convicted him then, he would have been permanently ineligible. I am fortunate to have a large family, many friends, and professional colleagues who do not support Trump. I avoid the people and businesses that support Trump. I give of my time and resources to Democrat politicians across America who share my egalitarian values. Humans are full of potential if nourished physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Empathy is the greatest quality we can possess as humans. Malignant narcissists such as Trump and Vladimir Putin are incapable of feeling genuine empathy which makes them very dangerous indeed.

YOu do realize that there is a laughing prompter for these shows and laughing tracks to facilitate the laughing of the real live audience, right? It's not much different than what they use for sitcoms. Some shows like SNL have live audiences, but did you notice that during the pandemic when they couldn't actually have large groups for an audience (due to the 6 foot rule and other mandates) the laughing didn't stop or get any quieter despite having significantly less audience members?? It's amazing to me that even today some people are still amazed that almost everything they watch on TV is controlled and done so purposely. That's why people are stupid. They don't think about these things and they just believe what they see and hear.

In the midway of this our mortal life, I found me in a gloomy wood, astray Gone from the path direct: and e’en to tell It were no easy task, how savage wild That forest, how robust and rough its growth, Which to remember only, my dismay Renews, in bitterness not far from death. Yet to discourse of what there good befell, All else will I relate discover’d there. How first I enter’d it I scarce can say, Such sleepy dullness in that instant weigh’d My senses down, when the true path I left, But when a mountain’s foot I reach’d, where clos’d The valley, that had pierc’d my heart with dread, I look’d aloft, and saw his shoulders broad Already vested with that planet’s beam, Who leads all wanderers safe through every way.
