Hi again Andy. I'm coming to the end of my build for this model and I noticed a problem. The instructions omit some parts on the rear hull that the log attaches to. I was wondering if you managed to figure out which parts they were. Thanks heaps.

Hello Andy, I just started modeling and I made an IS-2 and it looks ok and now I an making an AMX 13/90 and IS-3 and I would like to know how to round out, I guess you would call it, the sprew seams? Ty for your time
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters8 жыл бұрын
I use sanding sticks to get rid of the excess sprue.

Starting to get back into hobby after a long hiatus I have ideas in doing a diorama based on the movie red dawn 1984. Although the Soviet tanks were mock up replicas .I will go by the closest real vehicle. Will be a what if scenario idea

Hey Ansy, REALLY like the use of the pigments at the end, but do you use anything as a 'fixer' to keep them from coming off, as they are basically just like dust on the model? Thanks in advance, Bruce/AKA Bubba

I'm very new to modeling: after applying the rust pigment, does it stay on or do you have to use some dullcoat on it again so it doesn't blow off the model?
@cursedmonkey10338 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, I'm new to Trumpeter. I'm working on my first kit of theirs, the BMP 2D and the wheels don't fit properly. They're slightly wonky so I've had to cut the suspension arms and cement the wheels on and adjust them by eye to make sure they're straight. Have you had a similar problem with this one? I'm very keen on the T-64 and as soon as I saw your completed model I thought "that's going to be my next build!" Thanks.
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters8 жыл бұрын
+CursedMonkey Hi no the wheels went on fine
@cursedmonkey10338 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy. I'm working on this kit at the moment and I'm trying to decide if I should leave the side fenders off until I've painted the running gear and the tracks or just put them on. I noticed you've put them on before the tracks. Did you have any trouble attaching the tracks once the fenders are on? I bought the working tracks also. Thanks.
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters8 жыл бұрын
They were a little trouble but it was easier to paint tracks separately.
@cursedmonkey10338 жыл бұрын
Ryan Lusk Hi Ryan. I left the fenders and the tracks off. I'm painting the running gear, when that's done I'll paint the tracks then put them and fenders on then paint the fenders along with the rest of the vehicle. If you do it this way remember to mask the hull where the fenders attach, and the wheels and tracks where they attach.
@swamlurk8 жыл бұрын
CursedMonkey thanks so much! Do you have any advice for someone who already glued the wheels on. It's my first tank. Thanks again, Merry Christmas
@cursedmonkey10338 жыл бұрын
No problemo. I glued the wheels on too. What are you worried about exactly?
@swamlurk8 жыл бұрын
CursedMonkey I think painting the rubber tires on the wheels black cleanly and the insides of the wheels without getting overspray everywhere. Suppose I could mask them. Never airbrushed before but got one recently.

I think they do , now when i'm done I always seal them with lacquer clear coat so that helps .Thanks for watching

Great job Andy, Why didn't you use primer before the shadow coat?
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters8 жыл бұрын
+Eric Pellerin Never really ever found the need , Tamiya paint sticks real well and lacquer seals it in . Also think the more coats of paint you put on the more detail begins to fade. Thanks for watching

Hi Andy, I'm new to modeling and i just finished building a Type 89 "Girls und Panzer Version" by Fine Mold. I really want to give it a nice color but i don't have any painting tools. How much (Just an estimate) would it cost me if i want to get all the basic equipment, airbrush and paint? I'm a University student and have some other hobbies to support so my budget is kinda tight. Thanks!
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters8 жыл бұрын
a basic airbrush a compressor and paint would run about $125.00 to start and go up depending on quality of airbrush compressor.thanks for watching.
