Betty Grable dancing; Harry James playing -- priceless! What a gorgeous couple they made! To see them on the same stage together is amazing.

I agree I got into I love lucy at like 12 or 13 maybe even younger and I'm almost 23 and I still love i love lucy. there's nothing original about comedy TV shows today its all the same, jokes about sex, drugs or alcohol or getting drunk. And the music they did back then sounds amazing I can't stand today's music

@@batmanrocks6727 They did after 22 years of marriage, but never stopped loving each other. She died on July 2 1973 and was buried on July 5th which would have been their 30th Wedding Anniversary. He was there at her furneral and cried. He died on July 5 1983 on what would have been their 40th Anniversary. I don't know why they could not be happy down here, but I like to think that when they met up there all bitterness went away and the two are happy.

I think Betty quit acting in movies at that time. She was more famous in the 1940s & was mostly in musicals. Kinda sad that she died not too old from lung cancer. Desi also died from lung cancer. And Betty could really sing.

I'll wager she smoked, and that's a very hazardous thing for people.

Nice to watch but by this time the show was starting to become a variety act with guest stars. Most of these hour long specials were not on the same level as I love Lucy But people felt at the time it was entertaining and better than not seeing them at all

For such a meticulously produced show, I would have had the Grandfather clock show the appropriate time. (Usually "set" at 12). And a minor but bothersome thing to some: in the Brown Derby & "Lucy Changes Her Mind": the bases of the restaurant tables should have been wiped clean: you can see coats of dust on them. There. I LOVE LUCY!

Two featured famous Hollywood couples *(Lucy & Desi, Betty & Harry)* in the outward beauty and allure of show business, but unhappy in their marriages. Fame and fortune can be fatal attractions.

I thought the acting on The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour was atrocious. They overacted. Fred's reaction to Betty Grable was a good example of that. I Love Lucy hit all of the right comedic notes.

So, you mean to tell me Desi had an ex-girlfriend on the show and danced with her and everything??? Man, Desi had Lucy out here looking like a complete fool. The level of disrespect is astounding.

I said what I said that's right, Desi dated Betty before he married Lucy. She was also older than him too, by 3 months. Desi also dated Lana Turner. But I wouldn't dance with my ex bf.

🤦🏽♀️ You realize it was Lucy’s show too? No one was getting on without having everyone’s approval which means Lucy knew she was coming on and obviously didn’t mind

She and Harry James had 2 Daughters by then and Lucy and Desi had there 2 Kids and they where all around the Same Age and Probably went to School together Movie Stars and Television Stars Kids Back then Pretty much all went to some of the Same Private Schools or Public Schools in Hollywood not like Today.
