7:35 I think trump played this turn too quickly. He assumes that killing demolisher is automatically better than killing a 4/4 because he doesn't want it to get value. However, 2/1 and weapon into 4/4 is probably better. In the worst case scenario, considering only things on board, if demolisher hits the boulderfist for 2 damage and then boulderfist trades into it, it's as if demolisher were a 3/4 which means that the 4/4 nerubian would've dealt 1 more damage to the boulderfist. Next you can consider the possibility of freeze or taunt. Freeze is not possible as opponent is a rogue and there haven't been any spare parts. Taunt is unlikely and should be considered only as an outside chance. Next you can consider removal. Sap is bad but it's bad regardless. In fact, with sap, you'll be taking more damage against a nerubian so it would still be better to remove it in this case. Against other removal, opponent should take up most of his mana clearing boulderfist so it should be safe to assume he won't develop anything significant or at least it will be something you can clear with arcane shot. Given that next turn will be grand crusader, the demolisher is once again, better to trade into since in the worst case scenario, grand crusader will be left at 5/2 after trading with the demolisher.

16:30 coin trogg should be better than grunt because in the early game, that 1 health is more relevant than it will be in the later game. More likely than not, the grunt will just end up being two attack that cannot be hero powered down easily whereas right now, trogg can force very slow hero power plays which can be extremely beneficial for tempo. Also consider that if opponent plays a 2/3 into grunt, you're gonna get rekt.

1:35 only 10 cards in, I think mad scientist should be stronger than raptor here. Very likely you'll get a secret and most hunter secrets are ok. I would probably pick scientist here if I were mage and I would argue mage has fewer quality secrets and thus would be less likely to get good scientist value so by extension, should be good to pick scientist here.

ChoppersRevenge But Raptor is better if you don't het any secrets. Like... imagine that mad scientist without a secret is worth 1. With secret it's worth 3. Raptor is always worth 2. It's sometimes weaker... but sometimes it's better. And it's always worth the same. It's more consistent and that's what you are looking for in arena.

Yes but that's hindsight. If he'd gone face he would have had a very small chance of winning (opponent needs to not have 1 dmg reach, no big taunts, and no heal), but by trading, he actually eliminates his only win condition of killing opponent before he dies to max damage. There was nearly no combination of cards that would have allowed him to win after he traded given the board state and opponent's health remaining.

1) Standard makes it easier for new players to get into the game because they don't have to collect all the old cards. 2) It might not seem that exciting now, but a game that adds new cards while taking away old cards stays more interesting for longer. Magic: The Gathering has been doing so for about 20 years and is stronger than ever because of it.
