PSA: It's currently hard for me to keep the 2 videos per day schedule up. Basically Trump is playing 90% patron and 10% arena on stream. You are seeing all arena runs and have already seen 5 patron videos on this channel but I feel like posting patron video after patron video with generic games is neither healthy for the channel nor all that interesting to watch. I will continue to showcase outstanding patron games and mostly everything else non-patrony but I am very interested to know if the majority here agrees with me that 1 video per day until more interesting stuff is going on is fine. Just thumbs up one of my replies to basically vote. I figured asking the viewers is better than making the decision myself. Also: Trump is not streaming Hearthstone today or tomorrow so that makes things even more difficult. If only arena runs were at least 2 parts long... ~ Jens

His drafting wasn't that great this time (I say that without having watched the games yet, just being so frustrated by that pick I had to check the comments to see if other people felt the same).

I know this run was doomed as soon as Trump said he would try and rush for everything out of his hand for a 7/7 Core Rager. He made some bad choices.

+Ms Chaedi I was also really puzzled at why he would pick a third Glaivezooka over a Desert Camel with as many 1s as he had. Sure enough on the second game he was stuck with a double Glaivezooka hand. With as many weenie minions as he had the Glaivezooka wasn't going to get much value. I don't think that Trump does very much Hunter arena. With the deck he had, there was no reason to gloat over three Glaivezookas and three Eleks. His high mana cards all had low damage and high health, which is the exact opposite of what you want in an aggro deck.

When I was playing against a mage as a rogue, mage went turn 6 wobbling runts, to which I respond with sap + 4 drop. After that, mage replayed wobbling runts (it was just bad play at this point), and it just happened what I got second sap, so I played it on wobbling runts again. After that, this short piece of emote-conversation happened: Mage: "My magic will tear you apart!" Me: "Sorry about that"

yes, actually. I topdecked it when I was on the brink of losing and it helped me win the game. Of course, there were other good cards that helped me as well, but it helped me gain board control. Maybe it's not REALLY good, but I say it's better than average.

Trump said he learned a great deal about tempo playing constructed and while that might be true for his plays, I don't think he brings a tempo mindset to his arena drafts. I say that because his most recent drafts seems really off and this takes a great toll on his runs. I don't play a lot of Hunter, but come on, Argent Squire is top tier, especially in aggressive decks and most notably in a deck with two Glaivezookas to synergize with. He doesn't even consider it. KT over Greenskin is kinda weird for me as well, since he was trying to go fast. And Desert Camel would be very, very good in this deck - but it's a debatable pick when posed against Glaivezooka.

Though I really love Trump's face getting owned I'm sad for arena now. I used to only love arena in this game because ranked felt stale and boring for me (same decks, same cards, either you pay to get cards and advance or you stuck in sub 15 ranks for months farming etc.). Arena was a different story, but now what I've noticed: arena sites makes even bad players draft good decks (arena knowledge required for that reduced by 95% now), few new spells and clears released meaning it's really hard to recover from bad hand (which is essentially coin flip, I've had decks with 5 cards over 5 mana and got 2-3 of them on the opening hands means you get swarmed and dead). and as much as I like trump lose so badly it really says something about state of the arena lately (not only this video but ones from the recent weeks).

People saying this draft was terrible know sweet fuck all about arena. It wasn't the best draft and there were a couple of questionable choices (like KT over Greenskin), but it wasn't a bad draft by any stretch. You can't judge a deck solely by how many wins it got, especially with such a small sample size.

+ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ I expect that Trump thought the deck could work. After all, Trump chose the cards. He chose the 3rd weapon based upon his supposition that the game would be long. He projected that with his choice of 'Empty Hand' cards. He lost all his 'Jousts', could not hold the board, and had no late game heavies OR heals/taunts to last that long. All in all, the deck was not well constructed, yes, but Arena decks are always done on the fly with no chance to undo a pick.

I still don't, for the life of me, understand what they were thinking with Acidmaw, It has such terrible stats for 7 mana and the effect isn't even that amazing, I know the Dreadscale acidmaw combo was in mind but i don't see why it has to kill your minions as well, 10 mana clear your opponent's board with two cards if they have no sticky minions doesn't seem that OP

+deamonyoshi876 I believe the idea was to make it a 7 + 3 combo with Acidmaw and unleash the hounds. To catch up on a board you've lost control of on turn 10, in a similar way to how Mind Control can swing the game for a Priest on turn 10. I think if the card was 6 mana 4/2 it opens up too many coin related combos in the late game that might make the card a bit too strong in certain situations. IMO, 7 mana 2/4 Acidmaw would have been a more reasonable card. At least it doesn't get taken out of the game by 90% of the weapons with 4 health.

Ancients is right. You can't forget about unleash the hounds. With that it becomes a 10 mana 4/2, clear your opponents board. Still pretty shit sure, but at least hunter now has some sort of board clear if people want to experiment. And who knows, later some cards might come out that make acidmaw more playable.

The problem with this deck is the crappy value it has, the curve is shit and it has bad removal. Brave Archer is especially bad for its low value it just gets killed by a hero power achieving nothing besides wasting a card. When making a arena deck you always have to look for the most unfair cards/synergies as possible, not go for a bad idea like throwing your hand away which is a terrible idea because it means that there is no tempo/removal cards in hand and also you will lose to board clears.

Hunter helped me a lot through the beginning, when I needed to climb the ladder for better rewards in order to build better decks. It was a perfect choice for f2p players, and thanks to it I play dragon priest and midrange druid nowadays.
