It's cool that this game developed this as a full fledged story beyond just a brief little mention or 20 second flashback. I've given this game some criticism but they get props for doing this. Expands on the already established lore and brings some originality to the story mode

Contrary to what the other two said, this is canon stuff, but not from Super. It's from the "gap" between Super and Z. In a flashback during one of DBS's episodes, Trunks explained that he defeated Babidi and Dabura and prevented Majin Buu from awakening. Though, they seemed to have taken some creative liberties what with killing the Supreme Kai before Goku Black and Zamasu did

Anyone feel like this story should continue. Buu awakens eventually. Trunks recruits help from the past in the form of Gohan, Goten, and Kid Trunks(Best characters to use due to their personal connection to Trunks and Buu and Future Gohan, explanation of his role coming up). Buu beats them all and just when all hope is lost Future Gohan returns by way of either the Dragon Balls or fortune teller Baba style and him and Trunks fuse for the final battle. Or something like that. Or have Future Gohan return earlier in the story. It would give more room for some interesting character moments. Future Gohan meeting his past counterpart as well as the brother he never had and just plain seeing the life he never had in Gohan.

I’m glad Trunks got a good story; I hate what comes after this…everybody knows about the existential crisis that proceeds this, but Trunk’s story feels like a proper summary of Dragon Ball’s main ideology; never give up, and get stronger through this pain. This game’s got some serious flaws, but I absolutely love that this character got one last, “hurrah,” of a narrative to go out on!
