I have been to Truro just the once, I worked out it would be before you were born! It doesn't look like it has changed much. The tea room looked particularly charming. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you Faith 🤗 I really loved it there. It had such a nice atmosphere 😊 The tea room was very charming. I think that the scones were the best I have ever tasted and the Victorian decor really added to the charmingness of it 🍰😊

I’ve never been here !! What a lovely cathedral and market stalls too. This has to be one for the hit list too!!
@SouthWestSundays2 жыл бұрын
It’s really gorgeous! Definitely add to your hit list! It’s a really peaceful city (until it came to trying to record myself talking or trying to video nice views!) I notice noises lots more since starting the videos! Aeroplanes, motorbikes, cars!! So noisy when you are trying to video things 🤣 There are some brilliant street musicians there too that sound like original artists like Frank Sinatra etc .. absolutely brilliant! I really want to go back there again. The Cathedral is magnificent and the farmers market gorgeous with a huge array of Cornish products. Absolutely loved it!!

I was 'betting' with myself to see if your City visit was going to be Salisbury or Truro. I edged over the Wiltshire one, so I lost my virtual bet! This was a super City Tour Louise - you certainly covered all the highlights. I used to live in Truro, many, many moons ago. I know it well, but I haven't been there for a little while. This was a great explore, and you cover busy areas, like the markets, far better than I ever could. Lovely view 🙂👍 on a Sunday morning before I head out on another explore. Take care, Paul.

Thank you Paul! Pleased you enjoyed it! I really enjoy covering things like the markets, but I get really nervous doing it because I don’t like to intrude on people 😊 I felt so much more relaxed doing the video at the end in the park in Newton Abbot! 🤣 What a lovely city to live in! It’s gorgeous! I will definitely return there 😊 Happy exploring today! I think I will go out somewhere too to do a mini video. I did 2 mini ones yesterday and enjoyed a whole day out finishing with fish and chips on the beach in Minehead at 8:30pm! (well I will try to make them mini - I have so much footage from them to edit!) 😊 It’s perfect weather for vlogging at the moment 😊

Thank you Paul! 😊 I enjoyed creating it on Sunday morning. I may change it slightly if I can work out how to, but happy enough with it 😊 Thanks for noticing it and letting me know that you like it. Much appreciated. I am hoping to put up another video tomorrow for ‘Somerset Day’ tomorrow. It’s Somerset day each year in the 11th May, Actually just realised that that is now today as it’s gone midnight! Just having a bit of a nightmare trying to upload it to KZbin. It’s uploaded 32% in just over 3 hours! Crazy slow upload speed tonight. It’s normally very slow, but this is worse than ever! I wanted to do my end screen before going to bed, but I think I will have to trust it to keep uploading during the night and hopefully in the morning it will be ready for me to do the end screen on 👍 I really enjoyed filming and editing it. Take care, Louise

@@SouthWestSundays Tell me about slow upload speeds and KZbin processing times! So frustrating isn't it! I used to upload in 4k, (but not film in it - it looks better and less 'blocky' on shadowy areas). One video took 17 hours to upload, and another 36 hours to process by KZbin! Argh! So, back to 1080p. Yes, I was fortunate, my Westcountry Wanderings logo and start/end card was designed by my auntie - she is a graphic designer. I don't have graphic design skills at all. I will have a look at your Dunster video tonight - sounds fab! 🙂👍 Cheers, Paul
@SouthWestSundays2 жыл бұрын
Ah, I feel your frustration! I have never tried uploading in 4k. 19 hours at 1080 was enough 🤣 So happy it’s finally up! It processed relatively quickly once it had uploaded but the actual uploading took 19 hours! 🥱 Hope you enjoy it 😊 I loved making it!!

There is also a Truro in South Australia. Lot of Cornish history in South Australia with many old copper mines worked by Cornish Miners, The Moonta area of South Australia has a large Cornish festival every year.

Oh that’s really interesting to know - thank you! I would love to re visit Australia one day! If I do get the opportunity to, I will have a look and see if I can do it at the time of the Cornish Festival!! One for my list! Thank you for watching and commenting!

Do you think Truro is the best town to book an accomodation for a few days and make day trips by bus/train to other towns and villages in Cornwall and come back for the night? I love watching your videos! They inspire me to travel.
@SouthWestSundays11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much izabela! I think Truro would make a great base to explore other places by bus or train as it is central and has good public transport links. That’s so lovely to know that you enjoy my videos and find them inspirational.

I see what you mean about the architecture looking a lot like Bath, really need to visit Cornwall again at some point - I've been there a grand total of once when we stayed in Hayle :) P.S I can't help but notice your live audio when using your lapel mic is only coming from the left hand side (only noticeable if you wear earphones) I don't know which editing program you're using but know Davinci Resolve occasionally has this problem but there's tutorials on how to fix it on YT (so sure their would be for whichever program you're using too).
@SouthWestSundays2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jesse! Yes, definitely visit Cornwall again. I must spend much more time there exploring. It looks gorgeous! Thanks for mentioning the audio with the mic. I will have to investigate that. I use iMovie on my phone to edit and have not listened with earphones. I must have a listen. Thanks for letting me know and for the advice 😊

Is there a shopping centre?
@SouthWestSundays3 ай бұрын
Hi, there is a good range of shops. I give an idea of the main shopping centre between 2;31 and 3:35 in the video but there are lots more to enjoy. The main shopping area is an outside street lined with a good mix of National and Independent shops.
@musiclover-x8u3 ай бұрын

Plymouth is NOT in Cornwall as suggested in your intro
@SouthWestSundays9 ай бұрын
Thank you Colin. I think I did not phrase it very well or put the subtitles in slightly the wrong place. I was referring to Truro being the first city that I had visited in the South West for the channel. I really appreciate your comment though, as I was not clear in the intro.

For those non-english folks, the british town's "High street" is what we americans call main Street. So there you go! Or it could be a street where you and your mates hang out and get high.
