The game already has pay to win aspects to it. I been keeping this secret to myself and only the people I regularly play with, but go to the battle pass and the "doomed zero" sector (halloween theme) Read the discription of the AZV SMG in that sector and then go back and read the same write up for the base gun. They are different. I mostly been keeping it to myself because the number of cheaters in the game and squall users. They don't need a gun they can kill even faster with.

This is the best honest review of the game. I am a gamer and a "crypto nerd" but I love the skeptical review of the crypto aspect of the game. While the concerns are valid, marketplace manipulation would be very dificult due to the insanely high circulating supply. Probably the only reason the kestral IS is 2000+ GUNZ is because the game is in early access and very few people actually own that weapon right now. I agree it shouldn't be PTW, but other than that, the crypto aspect brings alot to the table and could change the direction of all future games.

Such an amazing review man! One of the things I wanna touch up on is the marketplace. You said that there was a possibility of marketplace manipulation. That IS a possibility, but I think it would be hard for that to happen. The reason being is that there are marketplace bots that list items at a certain price to make sure that item actually stays in that price range it's set at. I'm not sure if it'll be a thing in the future, but for most items in the game, the marketplace bots will basically restock the items at a certain price point. There are some items that don't restock tho, like some rare cosmetics or Battle pass items. Those are considered rare and will definitely be prone to marketplace manipulation, just like rare CS skins. The variations of the guns (QP, IS, etc.) are basically just rare versions of the base gun. Those were guns that were in the playtest and they stopped restocking those guns and just made them more rare. There is NO difference in most gun variations, they're just rare items.

I was thinking about things like price caps or guaranteed maximums on things like guns/limbs, but I DO like the idea of ultra rare cosmetics. Thanks for the comment brotha!

As far as I know, the 'special edition' guns like Kestrel IS etc. Do nothing, they are a left-over from earlier tests and are not even droppable anymore.

I played it a little. Thought it was surprisingly good gum play but I’m one of those guys who just really prefers 1st person perspective. I know many don’t mind but to me it changes the fps feel completely

Tried it on Xbox and while it has huge potential the gunplay combined with the optimization really put me off pretty much straight away. Playing a laggy and stuttering game on a controller with pretty much no AA (which i'm fine with, don't get me wrong) is just no fun. Most people come from games like COD, PUBG, Tarkov and if the base aspects of the game don't really work you're not going to put in the hours to actually git gud with everything else the game has to offer (cyberlimbs, grappling etc.)

Looks awesome. I tried to download and play, keep getting a some kind of an install error. I have a beast of a pc with all the latest hardware and OS and still can't get the installer to work. The "kestrel IS" and other custom type weapons do not drop in game anymore. They're from an old version of the game before weapon attachments. TLDR: They do nothing, and are only valuable as "collectors items". Just some clarification.

I think you might of overlooked something. I believe you can get accessories for your weapon for a reasonable amount of gunz tokens (not expensive), which would make it as good or better than the IS version.

Yo this game is impossibly difficult. Seriously. I have never got so horribly embarrassed in a game ever. I don't even know what to do about it. I'm on controller and my sensitivity is good I played with the settings, but I'm just getting abused in every gun fight. I'm not at all new to BR's played em all, do really well in them all. Remember, when a game chooses to integrate Web3/NFTs/crypto, those elements will ALWAYS be the primary focus of the devs. Notice how the game is optimized incredibly poorly, yet the subscription and the marketplace work great. Web3 will always be first, and gameplay will always be second.

Why ? IMO this release is to gather enough player data to make a proper update in time for a launch before chrismas. If they spent a few more weeks on opt they might have missed that window. Also, there are many genuine people in crypto. It's not all grifters. You don't judge content creators on youtube base on Tai lopez do you ? Crypto may not make sense for all games, but if used well it can bring a whole new dimensions to gaming.

Other version of guns (Kester IS for example) is and old development versions Back in the days you had 3 variations in each weapon family (Kestrel orig/IS/QP) Basicly they are the same, but IS/QP versions had different from base default attachments in Barrel, Stock and Grip So you easily can remake this weapon from basci one with avaliable attachments They cost so much because them are not avaliable anymore, since attachments system was remaked and now weapons exist only as base models of each types

It was extremely fun at first, played it non stop with my friends but I knew at some point the tryhards would abuse whatever was broken. Fast forward to today, that’s exactly what happened. Phosphor one shot abusers and paralyzer abusers, that’s all they use for boring easy kills. Games with abilities are fun , but if I’m dying instantly cause of an ability and not cause someone out gunned me, then there’s a serious issue

Bruh the shooting in the games with ARs and SMGs aren’t bad you just need to be able to hit your head shots also strafing left and right while shooting makes it inaccurate so find a balance between strafing and using right stick to track while not moving left and right

The team is actively banning cheaters and working on improving the anti cheat. Their team members have been communicating directly, posting on twitter and letting it be known they are taking it very seriously. That is important to note. There is very open lines of communication with the lead team to me and other creators who enjoy the game. I am not paid by the game or gunzilla in any formal way I just like the game and the team.

Many companies nowadays tend to always rely on upscaling technologies as the new way of "Optimization". But forcing me to use DLSS or any other upscaling method at 1080p is just ridiculous. Especially when the majority of people play at 1080p / 1440p. The only way I got the game looking good, was to use 3k DSR resolution, and then DLSS makes its magic. This shouldn't be the way. I should be able to get a crispy clear image out of 1080p, without the need for the DLSS blanket. I know this is a free game, but unfortunately, I don't want this to become the norm. They got one job. They already save so much time not creating their own Engine. Even at 1440p DLSS looks horrendous, so I really don't know what they're doing. Upscaling is a cool technology, but it shouldn't go through that path. A new Anti-aliasing technology should be created ASAP instead.

Well Isaac, the future of gaming will be catered around Crypto. There are a lot of devs and crypto coins out there that are working on new games in the future. I do agree with you that the NFT for the guns will be a bad idea. Keeping cosmetic is the right way for the NFT tokens. They can't steer away from the gameplay and lose the players. I'm sure they'll have an exchange on the main menu to purchase the coin so it's easier to get the token. I think this game is off the Avalanche blockchain. If they want to incorporate the crypto part, let it be something else that isn't effecting the gameplay. Leveling up and getting fractional crypto? Achieving daily tasks to achieve fractional crypto. Idk just throwing ideas out there.

You are wrong and this assertion is based on nothing. Most gamers do not want crypto or play to earn in their games. Just because one semi-decent crypto game came out after years of nothing but slop, everyone is creaming their jeans over it. Gamers play games for fun and as an escape. Adding play to earn makes games feel like a chore. Also, cryptocurrency is too volatile and most gamers will have no interest in engaging with that level of volatility long term. Web3 games will continue to be nothing but crypto bros pissing in each other’s mouths while trying to convince regular people that it’s lemonade. They might be able to fool a few people, but most will avoid it at all costs.

Crypto provides digital ownership. Any rare drop I receive in game, I can sell for gunz and convert that in to usd. Wire that to my account and I get compensated for my time. I have thousands of hours in dota 2 and probably 1000 cosmetics. I can't sell those cosmetics for anything besides steam bucks. Sure would be nice to sell those cosmetics for real money. 100 million and it feels like pubg with jet packs... it gives me indy game/ mobile game vibes. I'd play if it was 1st person, but the few guns that are first person, have weak animations like a ps2 game. If it changes by launch I'll be happy to play it. When you say the game is only a little unoptimized, that’s an understatement. It runs terribly on an RTX 3070, barely reaching 40 FPS, and the visuals suffer since you have to keep all the settings on low. Let’s be honest-this game has serious optimization issues.

They know damn well the Crypto aspect will blow up in their faces. That leads me to the conclusion that its a cash-grab and it actually being a GREAT GAME is the disguise to lure everyone in to the Gold Rush.

Did you know that it is also impossible to buy a monthly subscription for ps 5 in ps store? This also needs to be fixed asap. Personally, i play much less than i would because i don't get that income, can't sell on the market thus can't make a build that i would like to play = less motivation. I wish to ps store to fix this bug asap!!
