Hi! There's a point where I talk about the paint, and I gloss over a lot of the paint on the head and ball part, because I'm focused on the other parts. Also, with my colorblindness, it all kind of blends. in. I just wanted to say that yes, the figure has paint, and it looks great. But there's also a lot of places it doesn't have paint. And to me, that kinda stands out more. I probably should bump the score up a quarter of a point, but I'm sticking with he score because I think it feels right.

Great job dude, way better than a lot of big names out there. You are clear, precise, your shooting is sharp and the structure is awesome. Plus, you are lively and entertaining. Seriously, you deserve to be up there 😊

I'm sorry I don't even.. engage.. with toy stuff (it's for my own good, trust me) but the thumbnail alone makes this worth a boost. I'm letting this play through for the sake of retention analytics, though, in the meantime; you ought to know that got _a really good_ laugh

About time we finally got the Droideka in TBS. It was definitely well worth the wait tho. Blast effects would have been nice, but Cubic’s are fantastic options. I only bought one, hoping for some other repaints down the line, like a Republic Commando and/or Jedi Survivor one! (Gimme a Republic Commando Super Battle Droid while you’re at it too Hasbro!) RIP Joel. He was a great artist, and I’m sure a great guy as well.

For starters. I'm sorry. I'm the loss of your friend. The second I really love this figure. I don't care if it turns into ball mode perfectly. I have enough stuff that takes a shelf dive. I don't need him rolling off too. I'm super happy with him. Thanks for the video Mike.

Absolutely, the attack mode looks great. And thank you!

I have the same criticisms as you do with this. I love it, but I don’t find it fun to mess with because of how quickly the joints get lose, it ultimately gets the same treatment as my traffic cone figures (pose once and then display). I ordered three, two to keep is attack mode and one to keep in ball mode. I ended up selling my third but kept my old Mega for the ball mode look. I collect Transformers too, and I see the engineering they can pull off these days. I’m surprised a TF consultant wasn’t brought in for this, it is so close to working. Nothing I’m going to obsess over, just slightly disappointed we were this close to getting a modern transforming Destroyer. Condolences to you, I have lost friends too. It just hits different. 😢

I saw one of these at Gamestop a couple of weeks ago and I was going to get it, but my nephew saw it and was so excited about it that I went ahead and just let him buy it for himself (he's 24, so I don't buy toys for him anymore). Now I just gotta hope that another one shows up at some point.

You know the Droideka’s articulation is 10/10 when it can hit that iconic MK pose

If a figure can hit those poses, it’s already good.

Hey Mike. They said "Droideka" at least twice... Once in the clip you showed. Then secondly when it comes back to the bridge and he says "They are no match for droidekas". Turn in your nerd card, buddy! 😂😂😂😂

I like the Droideka name especially how those slippery Neimoidians pronounce it. Whoever programmed your Destroyer to act coquettishly sexy...is a freak. 😂 I don't have it. Budget is a big concideration for me; but I think Hasbro played a blinder with this. I agree with you Mike some blaster bolts would've added to the fun. An energy shield would've been the icing on the cake. A few years ago I bought Hasbro's Overwatch The Ultimates Reinhardt. A big beefy beast of a figure. That came with a massive hammer and an energy shield. Granted the shield looks like the lid off a tupperware box; but still, they could make a semi transparent ball to sit over this droid of death. Great review Mike. I love you deadpan delivery. Baldilocks' recent review of Gnawgshide for GI Joe Classified was up there too for chuckles.

I was honestly thinking of Reinhardt too! I got that on clearance from GameStop, and I really liked it.

3:30 Fun history of the Droideka design, Gunray's walking throne, etc. Early concept Neimoidians were based on insects, more like Geonosians crossed with a B1. It wasn't practical, so instead we got animatronic amphibians and these cool little design echoes in their technology. Kind of a happy accident that expanded the universe, made the TF and Neimoidians more complex than "bug aliens and their bug droids."
@pletho795 ай бұрын
Also appreciate the plug! Figure is an engineering feat, and so close to wheely perfection if the back leg could slide down. Not in for Hot Toys but if Bandai decides to cook... Fun vid as always, Mike! 12:20 could be the official BSC thinking cap 😂

This pretty easily the black series figure of the year so far for me. Just an an amazing acheivement in toy design and engineering. The degree to which they were able to capture the complexity of all the pieces and parts of the design and make it all both look great AND generally function well is really outstanding. I really can’t think any other action figure in any line that approaches this complexity and what they have pulled off I think is pretty unprecedented at a low 30 dollar price point. It’s not perfect because no action figure is, but this is a top ten black series figure of all time for me and gonna be pretty hard to top for BS figure of the year.
@firemanx337112 ай бұрын
Honestly while lack of accessories is a small bummer, its not a big deal, and lack of paint is a non issue. for me its the lack of a proper ball/wheel mode. and that is probably why they dont include instructions. there probably isnt an official mode and any official pics of it might have just been the photographer saying "wasnt it supposed to do that or something?"
