This speech reminds me of the mindset of Greg Plitt. He always talked about obtaining 'natural highs' from achieving things and pushing himself in life and not relying on external sources. A lot of people thought he truly was on something, but he was just that dialed in and in love with the highs and lows of life.

This was a really needed video. That hit me hard when you said "wheres the guy when I was 18/19" I can relate to that so much. When I was that age I boxed for years as an amateur and had such a clear goal of going pro. I trained and put more energy into that then I have anything in my entire life. I didn't play video games, didn't watch TV, didn't drink or eat junk and didn't go out much. I can admit it was a little too extreme but began to find balance with friends towards the end and that's the happiest I have ever been. Unfortunately I had to stop boxing due to having EDS syndrome which long story short means my skin would cut and bruise way too easily and my joints were always getting injured. I train with weights now and still run but in all honesty I haven't been able to replicate that same energy and transfer it to another goal. I've gone in and out of depression for years now, to the point of having therapy, but this video seemed to really hit home. What you said about balance I think is key. You appreciate them fun moments so much more when it's in line with pursuing a goal. This really did make me want to recapture that energy and pursue some sort of goal, just to feel like I have a purpose once more. Thanks for this video. Personally this was awesome advice that I think many people could benefit from.

hey greg. just wanted to say i’m so relieved that i’m not the only one to have this sort of mindset. i’m currently fresh out of high school and working on my self and trying to better my whole life with the things i’ve learned from you over the years. like you i was never a partier or a drinker, or for that matter even a smoker. i always drove myself more than anyone else i knew throughout high school. in the gym and elsewhere. but i do agree that you need to have the clear vision and most importantly a purpose. i’m wanting to become an actor. an actor with THAT physique. the physique that CAPTIVATES people. the physique that secures you the movie role. i have no plan on going to school right now, but i’m waiting and looking for the opportunity to make my move and become successful. hope to meet you some day soon man. heart felt thank you for everything you’ve taught and helped me with ❤️

keep it up brother. Im 25, and from your age to mine you will watch people you went to high school with stay stagnant thanks to drinking every night, smoking pot, tobacco, eating shit food, etc. these things are so widely accepted as normal that no one stops to think about how bad it is. I recommend just staying on your grind it will pay off. the constant drinking and going out is not worth it. also, a decent amount of people I went to school with are already married, at 25! its nuts. a handful already divorced, and im sure a decent amount are not happy in their relationship. its wild to me that people go to high school, college, whatever, then finally get some real freedom in life after they get a job and move out of their parents and immediately get fucking married. insane. why not enjoy those years of freedom. that's what im doing, while listening to all the people around me complain about their gf/bf/husband/wife it just blows my mind. keep grinding brother nothing wrong with keeping to yourself and growing

I don't drink or do drugs and being dedicated to the gym has never been a problem but I I can definitely improve on how much youtube and sports I consume.
