I experienced the difference between 3 vs 4 cylinder in tractor We have a new 50 hp 3cyl tractor And 25 yr old 35 hp 4 cyl tractor I used a shreader in both vehicles, when I coupled that in 3cyl 50hp tractor it is struggling to start spinning that, once attained its speed then if I over load it, it is able to pull that load But in 4 cyl 35 hp it easily started to spin that shreader but when I over load rpm is getting dropped Outcome from the above example is 4 cyl give more torque at lower RPM Because 2 cyl will produce power at the same time

It isn’t about how many cylinders it has. It is about how the particular Block is designed and how it is tuned. There are many 3pot refined and powerful engines in the Global market which can outperform many 4cyls. But the technical verdict is, 3cyl engines are unbalanced in nature and compact in size which can also return good fuel economy. 4cyl motors are refined in nature and will perform great at low end speeds with lesser gear shifts needed. Both engines have a character of its own and one can feel that only by driving it in person.

My engineering take is , The three cylinder is doing a work of a equally powerful 4 cylinder minus one cylinder. 1.0 tsi of a VW group got engine of the year award in 2018. Why because they did the peoper engineering in that, eg they used forged pistons, forged crankshaft, and hollow connecting rods for less weight but strong engine in terms of reliability. And yes all these are done to reduce the vibration, and it enhances the life further But this is a general theory , that peoper engineering be done to improve reliability. But adding to that you turbo it to increase power , means you are stuffing food into a childs mouth If proper engineering is not done its bound to fail , so these are tricky things, So eg 3xo has extracted the maximum performance and torque from that 1.2 turbo So tsi is not available at below 14 lakhs , whereas you get a 3xo turbo as low as 9 lakhs , what engineering could have mahindra done in terms of reliability? And there are points of how you should drive a three cylinder turbo for better life . In the end a equally powerful 1.5 4 cylinder NA will be reliable than a three cylinder turbos, So general life depends on the manufacturer, And these small turbos are suitable for short term , longterm the bigger 1.5 are better , Honda is offering a 10 year anytime 1.2 lakh kilometres warranty, which no manufacturer will offer a 10 year for a three cylinder turbo

As much as Toyota benefitted from this joint venture with Suzuki, I feel it had huge negative impact on the service quality from Toyota. I own Glanza 2020 which has been in the service center twice for accidental repair and I clearly saw the difference between the timeline for delivery. During the first time, they delivered the car in 15 days but for the 2nd time it took me nearly 40 days. Both the repairs were rear impact accident and the damage was almost similar.

Own a Glanza 2019. Toyota service quality is unmatched in Kochi. 60k done and every service has been pickup and drop with a wheel bearing change under extended warranty. They have been very transparent and the experience has been great

@@Joe-ritz My friend has xl6 it is a very good car in comfort but lacks sunroof and premium audio system and the K15C NA engine is not that powerful gets bored after driving many miles. Alcazar is good but third row space is not sufficient as Kia carens and Xl6/Ertiga. Looking for a good Torquey engine so chose the 1.5 CRDI Diesel. The T-GDI Turbo petrol is also good in power and torque but I drive 60% in highways and 40% in City that too in chennai city bumper traffic and all we can't expect Good average in the turbo petrol If I use 80% in highways then I can choose turbo petrol. So I think diesel will be efficient for me.

Maruti Toyota is the best example of successful dual badging product in Indian Auto. This possibly Maruti mastered it earlier when they had Fiat Diesel engine . INfact the same engine was used by Tata for Indica and Indigo / Fiat Uno /GM before exiting from India. BUt it was only Maruti which had the best tuned engine of the lot and did very well. Toyota benefited out of this as they did not have small engine in their portfolio. Without small mass market product Toyota cannot increase their foot fall in showroom / service network / sales network. This is important for Toyota to keep the interest in their product and company. THis was achieved with this joint venture.ANd in export market too Toyota can benefit expecially in their strong markets like Middle East etc., Plus Marutis frugal manufacturing process benefited in keeping costs lower. Maruthi benefited out of increased production capacity . Also they benefited out by SUV segment as Maruthi did not have any SUv presence. Plus the biggest benefit was Hybrid engine. Infact in both these aspects Toyota had contributed to Maruti. With Maruthis frugal manufacturing process they were able to keep this SUV and Hybrid segment in viable purchase price. This marriage is win win.

Suzuki should have retained S Cross it would have been a much better product for Toyota to rebadge. I see that there are many products are getting rebadged from Suzuki to Toyota and it is being accepted by the people but not these same is happening for the products getting rebadged from Toyota to Suzuki people have not accepted invecto is an example. After a long research i end up with honda amaze, bcz of our road conditions, i changed to fronx and taisor.. Since (ground clearance - 190mm) Got confused where to go. Im absolutely clarified fronx and taisor are physically same cars. Im absolutely fine with that.select me a car between fronx and Taisor in 1.2 lit engine variant. My travel will be 70℅ in highways and my budget should not go beyond 10.5L.on road. Im budget consious too. Select me a car between two fronx or Taisor. Plzz

Don't lose hope on BNCAP. Actually it's a voluntary based program as of now. Only Mahindra and Tata are sending voluntarily. Govt can't make it as mandatory but it can be done in other ways like asking vote from people to choose hot selling cars from each manufacturer to test it.

They have sent for initial testing which is common for all testing agencies to make manufacturers clear about their testing process. Those testing results will not be published as it was only for internal reasons. You can find these news in authenticated news feeds. Apart from initial testing Maruti is yet to be sent for actual testing. Sir this what I found details after your video. If any point is wrong please clarify I'm ready to accept. Is something is wrong then definitely we have to raise our voice.

Sir, with regard to you question on NCAP, what I read was, it was purely upon the request of the manufacturer and not the agency as it involves a significant amount of money , is it correct? If so, then we should ideally blame the manufacturer since they know about the quality of the product they manufactured, similar to your example on safari not being tested for so long?..

Namma car vangurathu idichi velayadava statement is a true statement Visited a nearby TATA showroom and found punch to be impressive, family is also impressed by the seating posture and features it provides. I asked for a test drive and the salesperson person arranged it in a later day. While driving the punch i didnt find anything impressive in that engine. Even a 2 yr old Wagon R impressed me in the drive Later test driven glanza and the drive felt a notch above wagon r. Wondering why the facelifted baleno / glanza is still not crash tested. Have decided to purchase glanza/baleno. Confused now to decide between them. Whether to go for baleno for its cost and service availability or to go for the glanza (which i liked look wise). Just wanted to know whether buying glanza is worth for the extra money spent? Can someone clarify

Hi Asir bro and team, thank you for the motocast video. Love your work. One such viewer who is eagerly waiting for you 3 to sit and discuss a topic so beautifully. I have been following your videos for quite some time now. Viewing this specific episode a few thoughts popped up. First thing When you spoke about the increase in sales number you gave data points however when you mentioned about the increase in dealerships there isn't any data referenced to support that. Would love to see you enclose data points on each and every item that you talk about. The next one I wanted to highlight is the frustration related to BNCAP. I agree to your point about they testing only a specific brand cars and not testing the cars that sell very good numbers. However is it possible the car manufacturers are not ready to give their cars for this testing as they are worried if the car gets a low rating then that might dent their sales figures? For example even Harrier and Safari were not tested earlier only when they are built good enough to be very safe then TATA sent that for testing. Could that be the reason why we don't see ratings for other cars? I am totally on your side and I admire your work and the love towards cars so much. But can we dig in more on this before we criticise these crash tests again? Can BNCAP force a car manufacturer to send their car for testing? do they have such powers? Had these thoughts and wanted to share it with you. Hope you will read this. Once again kudos to you and your team for the wonderful work that you are doing. Love you all..

Sir, thank you for your feedback. BNCAP has already received 6 cars from Maruti and 5-6 cars from Hyundai in the last 6 months. But they are publishing the results. They are keen on Tata only. That's our point.
