Stopped at 28:18 after he said that “babies not baptized would buried in this location”. None of the babies/ children born out of wedlock would ever be baptized. So every child that died by any means would have been buried here. Stop protecting the Church! Admit to the faults of your religion, that babies died at the hands of neglect, starvation, abuse… Give these babies a proper burial site and the families closer. Anyone who was involved in this today would be on there way to heaven/ hells gates if they haven’t already gone. The Church has a history of covering things up. Don’t let religion get in the way of the facts. I am sure the nuns the girls were overwhelmed by all they had to endure. How many girls and there babies were never documented living there or being born? I am sure with the poverty of the area there would be natural deaths just not at these number. I believe this is just another topic the Catholic Church is trying to cover up in fear of loosing there flock. The “flock” needs to stop giving tithes until this is resolved.

I spent a few months of horror in a single mothers 'home' in Sydney, Australia. The nuns there in 1971 were the most godless women I have ever met. As an unbaptised 17 year old girl of no particular belief, I was particularly abused, in every way possible. I cannot stand hearing these men defending the Catholic Church. They do not have first hand experience of being a woman or of being in one of these homes. How dare they! I know in every fibre of my being that there were nuns in that home in Sydney who had the capability to kill, to neglect, to abuse. Stop protecting those monsters. I hope to visit Tuam one day, I know what those girls would have gone through, I know how babies were left to cry for hours, hungry, wet, unloved. I got my son back. I refused to allow him to be adopted out to a Catholic family.My life has been hard, but at least my child lived, grew into a man, unlike the poor babies here. Its all about money and the 'good' name of the Church to these men. BS.

Sydney and Tuam are entirely different places on different sides of the planet. Calling people working in Tuam monsters because you had a bad experience is Australia is asinine. These people are just correcting facts on the Tuam baby home narrative they aren’t defending every baby home on the planet or the catholic faith as a whole. Maybe take their information as it was intended, in regards to these specific situation.

This is the question i ask everyday.. how does one get rid of the shame, guilt, stigma. prejudice.. Yes i am delighted the Arch Bishop is standing in solidarity with Catherine Corless, but i feel sorrowful because i know as a lone parent the stigma, prejudice is alive and kicking, once my Mother willed the house, sheds, and piece of land to me all hell broke loose, but why because a woman with out mans back is treated less as a human being.. so how does the church tackle stigma, prejudice, how do they undo the attitudes of people who were looking for a big business and thought they could walk all over two women and a son, who's father is absent.. so if my son was born way back then he may have found himself in that grave.. yes this something i chew on everyday. but i know God is not the church God is our creator and he loves his children what one does to the least of his little one you do to me.. yes i may one of the least but i still have a voice.. we have to deal with the Tuam Babies and give them dignity yes they are in Heaven.. but if one does not deal with this issue it will live on.. prejudice, stigma, guilt. and there are son's and daughters of women who have suffered because of the stigma , prejudice that was put on there Mothers. we have rid ourselves of this evil. and bring love into Ireland for these Babies,, and the children that lived on and lived under this pain.. amen... Where does the shame belong go back to the innocent girls and who made them pregnant. go back to the graves in sewage system and to the DNA.. and find the Fathers.. that is where the shame belongs not with the Innocent girls.. no.. or does it belong to a society feed with a view which was not healthy towards women remember in them times women were treated as second class citizens..sorry i loved a lot about old Ireland, but not this aspect Reply10 hEdited
