The one thing John never understood was that he didn't just take away their lies, he took away their imagination. The ability to imagine a world better then the one their in is what keeps the world moving and keeps humanity alive. It's what pushes people to be better versions of themselves and want more out of life. Take away that and we're no better than animals willing to tear each other apart.

It would've been a great series if Dream didn't turn into a side character in his own show in the last 4 episodes (which is like almost half the season). He was amazing then suddenly Rose became the main character... It wasn't all bad, but the last few episodes were often boring to watch because Dream had so little screen time. And yeah I realize this was probably true to comics, but still.

John only saw his own truth. A dark-nihilistic truth which is all he's ever known cause of his mother's lies. He never even saw the *true meaning* behind people's dreams back stage. Only front stage in his eyes. We could only wonder what he would've done if he took away the good parts to nightmares. Dreams in this show r to inspire humanity's goodness, and nightmares helps us to face our fears. Corinthian's was to make people afraid their in inner evilness so they don't become it, but he abandoned that mission. If they teamed upped, we would b in a world of suffering and misery.

Dreams and lies are two different things in life. Lies are falsehoods that deceive, trick, use, and fool us to make us think about what our lives will be while dreams help us understand ourselves so we can be our better selves John needs to understand that dreams inspire, motivate, and keep us alive so dreams are not lies, they're the truth of humanity.

John not realizing Dream was tricking him
@Landis9632 жыл бұрын
I don't think Dream is tricking him. The Ruby _is_ hurting John, twisting his irritation with peoples' lies into obsession and nihilism. The small lies of Bette and the others were keeping them alive, allowing them to tread the balance between their fears and their dreams. And if John wants to battle Dream for supremacy, Dream's best move is to set the battlefield - drawing the conflict into dreamland so that any damage done can be repaired after the fact. That crushing the ruby will release all of Dream's stored power didn't occur to either of them, until it happened.

My bit of problem with series Is the change of time from comic ( 1989-2021 ) I mean is not a problem it self i just think Is not ackloledge so much ( apart of the " Needed" blackwashing of some characters ) like John here is 95 years old And the semi skeleton design that it had in the comic was even more needed in this case for a man of his age, here barely look 60 Same for Paulie he was practically 120 years old in the series

I've never seen the Ring of power, but I don't think it'll be good. I wish representation of races, sexuality, and people were handled better in media. And can be like sandman, with a person sexuality, or their race is in some form of token advantage that the producers get to wave over the audience, but showing that these characters are people too, and not focusing on their aspect. Some people say that they didn't like the second half of sandman, but I liked it, it's so bad individuals of different variety can have problems. Like that drag guy, who constantly dreamed of drag instead of running a b&b, because he wanted to run away and become a Broadway star. However that was never fulfilled.
