TRUTH REVEALED! Why TheStradman BOUGHT a Hummer EV

James @TheStradman bought a new 2023 GMC Hummer EV, and today we're going to find out why! On paper, it's a truck that makes no sense at over 9,000lbs and boasting 1,000hp, but with bizarre features like crab walk and removable roof panels, there's a lot to explore!
For my final update from part one of the GT Black Series tour in the USA, we're with James before he'll be keeping a safe hold of the AMG in my absence. However, I'm intrigued to find out more about this ridiculous monster that is the new generation Hummer, having seen it only briefly before at SEMA last year.
The Hummer EV weighs in at 9,063lbs / 4,110kg, thanks to the enormous size and huge 212kWh battery pack that's good for 330 miles or so. Since buying the First Edition Hummer EV, James has done approximately 800 miles in the truck so still learning the ropes, but it gives us a good opportunity to run through the functionality and exactly what it can do.
It has been the most epic week with James in Utah and Las Vegas, seeing the Dream House and the drives to and from SEMA. Make sure to stay tuned to what he gets up to with my car while we're gone...

I enjoy Stradman but sometimes I can't finish his videos because of how hyper he acts and the non stop camera movement (on the face, 180 to driving, 180 back on the face. and repeat). I get it he built this "character" to appeal to his young audience and it works for him judging from his views and success but yeah it can be a bit too much for me at times

A cool thing is that several other cars also have 4 wheel steering and has for years and the way it turns depends on the speed. They will actually crabwalk at high speed but oppose steer at slow speed to reduce turning circle.

@Paul Herbert LOL doing that 4 day charge is a very bad idea due to long extended electrical load. Just do not rely on 110v long term as a safety risk. This thing really should be using 240v and the charge times are perfectly useable.

This video was so awesome that I decided to watch it more than one time! I really loved how you reviewed the features on the new Hummer EV and showing off Stradman driving it all across Utah. There’s hardly any good coverage on his channel of this vehicle and I’m very glad to see you driving it as well for the very first time. The crab walking feature is honestly pointless considering how much power the Hummer has to go in a straight line. It would mainly help to navigate around large rocks but it still takes a while to use effectively. Keep up the wonderful content as I’m very hyped to see what’s to come in the near future! 😎🔥

Hummer did a really good job with the Hummer EV! It's by far the best looking & spec'd EV truck/SUV out by a long shot. The hp, torque, tech options & features , over all look inside and out are just super cool. The white & black theme on it looks really good, you can tell he's super stoked and proud he was able to get one!

A good job? Really? They barely made 1000 and there was a recall for the rear lights and now there is one for the battery not being watertight. ON A VEHICLE THAT WAS MARKETED AS AN OFFROAD VEHICLE.

@@FloodExterminator yeah a good job with how it looks, the tech in it, the HP/torque and interior for an EV. Tesla are awful looking and there aren't any other EV trucks that look better as of now. And it's a brand new truck all around, having a few issues isn't that surprising or a big deal & producing limited numbers so far also make it cooler/more exciting. If they were pumping em out like Tesla they wouldn't be as cool or sought after as they are.

Great intro to the Hummer. It is the EV I would enjoy to daily drive. I enjoyed getting a full sized jeep for a few weeks when my sports car was in for service. Sitting up high, cool with the roof off, soft ride on big tires, and a sense of invincibility. You know in a Hummer if you are hit in traffic, the Hummer will come out on top... literally.

I've been watching for years but I'm definitely not a fan of video titles that declare "REAL REASON," "TRUTH!", "HONEST," etc. because it makes me wonder about the rest of the time. Always great to see you Tim, but on the launches it may have been better pointing the camera forwards instead at yourself. As a viewer we got no sense of the acceleration with the camera pointing at yourself.
