1) pick the right person, 2) make an effort to be nice, 3) don't take your spouse for granted! Remember the grass isn't greener on the other side, the grass is greener where it get's watered and fertilized.

5. don’t dig up old failures or past disappointments 6. don’t compare your spouse unfavorably with others in terms of looks or abilities 7. don’t take someone of the opposite sex into areas that belong exclusively to your spouse(men minister to men, women to women) 8. don’t allow the freedom that breeds neglect (call when you say you will, be where you say you are) 9. pray daily for the health of your marriage and the harmony of your home 10. be sacrificial in your actions 11. use your imagination to keep expressing your love for your spouse, be creative similarly to your dating days 12. don’t depend on the children to be the glue or the wedge of the marriage 13. be ruthless in resisting anyone or anything that will draw your affections from each other 14. be willing to speak about what’s going on in your spouse’s head (fears, hopes, dreams) 15. be certain a great marriage is possible with divine enabling and human effort 16. be aware how quickly time is passing and seize the day

If a marriage does fail Jesus can and does help one to sincerely continue to pray for the other....Jesus can and will help healing to touch a wounded heart ..... let Jesus guide and be the source of strength.

The people asked him to come pray for the precious one passed that night. He entered the first floor, so full, and taken to the child's side. From solemn knees, he prayed with all his mind and heart on Christ. He said, "Dorcas, rise." She opened her eyes in response to Jesus's plans. Peter stood by, presented the life restored, to the widows, all at hand. Life, God's preference, and faith combine to produce miracles, kind. Jesus did not hesitate for Tabby. If a man marries a woman or a woman marries a man, it is essential to remind yourself that if you wanted a different kind of woman ya should have married the kind of woman you wanted all along. That's why people have types! And especially if your type is a faithful, loving and warm-hearted Christ follower, you had better be a faithful, loving, warm-hearted Christ follower yourself. If you wanted a seductive flirt, you'd better be prepared for the repercussions. Attraction is important, but it's partly a matter of what and who you are attracted to!
