I don't know if Pastor Begg sees these comments but if you do, would you please preach a sermon on the Apostle Paul's message about divorce in 1 Corinthians 7 if you already haven't. My brother had the misfortune of marrying a woman masquerading as a Christ follower and when she showed her true colors she asked him for a divorce. In the spirit of 1 Corinthians 7 he granted her the divorce and then spent the next year with the bottle due to depression. The good part of this story is that God drew him back to Himself and my brother went to Seminary with the proviso that he couldn't be a pastor. He got a Masters in Divinity and is the most devoted to the LORD that he's ever been.

Did he treat his wife as an equal? Sadly, this teaching is twisted and it leads husbands to mistreat their wives. God hates abuse of any kind more than He hates divorce.
