I've watched so many covers of this song and nobody has ever gotten the "2:02 part" right. Even Ann Wilson can't always duplicate it live at times but on the studio version those 5 seconds always give me chills. You sir gave me chills, well fucking done.

Thanks. Yes, I did 2 full sings of this and used the 2nd pass as my base. then I believe I still wasn't happy with the "scream" so I overdubbed a third try and that one is the one I think in the video and yes, I am pretty attentive to details and I do believe I pretty much nailed that part to the wall if I do say so myself BUT it was not the one I did in pass 2. So, no, people are not machines. This is why so many singers fail live because in the studio, you CAN retake 100s of times if you want. live... no retakes. You either nail or don't. But yeah, on that "scream" you have to lose your control and let go and just let it kind of flow out. AND you need to learn the actual notes in there and they come rather quickly so it's not an easy thing to replicate. Thanks for noticing! Makes me feel oh.... like someone noticed I did a good job and they "get it". :)

My voice did, until I was about 16 yrs old (1994), when my upper range constricted, in response to my lower range opening up. Currently, at age 45, I can still sing higher than people who hear my speaking voice can believe, but 12 yrs of cigarette smoking and 8 yrs of Naval service have made me long for my old tenor pipes! I am SO impressed that yours are going strong! Do you ever get into baritone range? If so, is your time spent in that range, more limited than it used to be?
