Sorry, I didn’t think I was being rude, I was just stating that you don’t have to spend your money on one if you think it’s too much. I bought the original version of this to use commercially at a site with limited electric outlets and it did a great job and held up pretty well. I had to replace the baseplate after a while but it was cheap and easy to do. Truvox customer service is excellent. I liked it so much I’ve actually brought it home to use as a daily. I get my Sebo E1 out for the big weekly clean but the Truvox does the daily work. Fantastic little vacuums
@ibaisaic3 жыл бұрын
It’s good enough for domestic use and I enjoy using it, though I had to remove the motor hood from mine as some rice and lentils were rattling around underneath the hood. I discovered that you have to replace the whole brush roll when the brushes wear down and they’re not cheap. I’ve ordered more bags and belts for it which were relatively cheap.
@a111z3 жыл бұрын
@@ibaisaic I have the Riccar version. I swapped the brushroll to the stiffest bristle version, made a big improvement in carpet grooming, and makes it feel practically self propelled. Technically, you can just swap the brush strips and not the whole metal brushroll, at least on mine.

As expected, all the commenters have already mentioned this one's similarities to the Riccar / Simplicity lightweight models - including the battery-operated version. I don't know if they all buy from the same supplier in China or if this is a Tacony (Riccar/Simplicity) designed machine. I have owned both the corded and cordless versions of this vacuum and although I really liked the corded version, I never quite warmed up to the cordless and prefer cordless vacuums designed from the ground up to be battery operated (Dyson). This one reminds me of a gasoline car with an electric motor and batteries retrofitted after the fact. Which is to say OK, but not as good as a purpose-built machine. And if I recall correctly, both the corded and cordless versions were prone to clogging.

We had one of the first generation models at our workplace, in around 2017 and it was used by me and the other cleaners there. It didnt work very well sadly and ended up being replaced with a Henry commercial grade cordless due to it needing constant changes of soleplate, as the small wheels on the soleplate kept wearing down and dropping off due to it not being robust enough to use on our Altro flooring. The bags get heavy when only a third full, and suction drops off rapidly after that so the bags being large does not mean you will actually use that volume of space in the bags. They suffer fade when the battery starts to get below 2 bars and the motor slows down, reducing the already fairly weak suction that they do have. Ours became very creaky and the wheels were clattery and noisy when rolled across the floors right from the word go, when it was new. Because of the poor soleplate wheel design, our maintenance manager decided to ditch the Valet upright as once the wheels wear down, the soleplate rubs on the hard flooring and this also then rapidly wears the brushroll bristles down and parts for them are quite expensive, and the machines themselves cost over £400 so they are not cheap to start with. They may well be OK for domestic use when used mainly on carpet, but for us, we found they just did not withstand daily commercial use - a 50/50 split between office grade carpet and Altro (similar to lino).

That's a weird brush strips. The ones for the corded versions, actually for just about every other Tacony/Simplicity/Riccar vac all use horse hair bristles. Because of that I've never had any hair build up on any rollers on their vacs over 10 years of use. I wonder if they are different for yours. The belt on all the metal brush vacs for the corded versions of this vac, all use a serpentine belt which never needs replacing. If it does, they are supposed to give you one for free.
@FantomLightning3 жыл бұрын
That's not quite correct. The line has been reformed but the S10D and R10D machines have a metal brush roll like this machine and do not use the lifetime serpentine belt, they have also expanded the metal brush roll to the current revision R10S model. The brush strips the cordless models use are the softest "delicate" brush strips for less strain on the motor and longer run time.
