I'm looking at that cover. Does it keep things pretty dry in the rain or carwash?
@FlakeGarage4 жыл бұрын
It does a good job of keeping things dry. I’ve left cardboard boxes and other stuff through several rain days and they have been fine. Keep in mind this cover is not completely watertight though so you do get some moisture on some edges like the tailgate ends or at the edge of the bed/cab but very minimal in my opinion. Everything in the center of the bed is definitely dry

@@FlakeGarage thank you. I have a Retrax retractable now and I'm not happy. I bought the truck with it but it has a giant box inside the front that the cover rolls into. It takes up to much space and now it's cracked and leaking. Thank you for the nice review.

Hi, nice review, do you live in the snowbelt? If so how does it hold up to heavy snow? Also, is the Truck Pro roll up material the same as the Lo Pro? Thanks
@FlakeGarage3 жыл бұрын
I live in the south but on the recent snow storm we got, the Lo Pro was covered in snow up to around 3-4 inches. The cover handle it well and even formed an ice sheet above it. Did not caved in but that's all the experience I can give you with snow. The Truxport and the Lo Pro to me seem to be built out of the same quality leather. According to their website, it doesn't say there is any difference on leather.

One important thing you overlooked is how it works with the tailgate. I noticed you closed the tailgate first and then the cover. You shouldn't have to open the cover to use the tailgate unless this is a much older version that didn't allow that at the time. With auto up/down tailgates getting popular, that's a very important consideration. The Lo Pro available today will allow the tailgate to close without having to open the cover. That and having the stake pockets available are my 2 biggest considerations.

This cover is 3+ yrs old by now so newer covers most likely have better technology and mechanisms. You don’t have to open the tailgate to close the cover or open the cover to shut the tailgate. I prefer to do it that way because I like the way the seal sits better that way but you can definitely just close your tailgate without issues. Tacomas don’t have stake pockets in the corners because they are a composite bed. Unless you are talking about the rail system in the tacoma which you wouldn’t have access to it with any cover you put on.

You should lower those rails. You got plenty of room to make it actually lo pro
