Question does that keep the starter engaged while running?

Um well that is not really fixed. You got it to start. Now you have gears spinning constantly that are only supposed to spin at start up. That reducer gear is a sprag bearing, (one way bearing)they are not supposed to be welded together. It was Hondas fault that the bearing they chose to use hear is not strong enough. Welding it together is making all the other gears in that line sin Continuously. Something else now is going to wear out fast. I wish there was a class action lawsuit against Honda for these four wheelers everyone experiences this problem and gets stranded in the middle of the woods somewhere. Honda is quite aware of the issue their solution was a sticker on the throttle and 07. What a piece of shit.

thats incorrect. its a press fit and designed to break away if theres some sort of major backfire. otherwise it is designed to spin together. welding it only risks stripping the other gears in line if a backfire happens. hondas fix was to put a sticker on the throttle that says dont push throttle during start up. the sprag you are talking about is a seperate part.
