Hi. Put my lights in my Green Defender a couple weeks ago. What a great difference. I’ve had no problems or issues. Thanks man. Good job!

First party light kits seem to be the way to go. I couldn't find any hint of light bleed and they don't do that stupid blinker thing that FMS does. The new rig is coming along really nicely.

100%, these things are so polished. I do wish I could change the mode from the remote, but it’s no biggie

Super glad I was able to score me a bronco and defender at my local hobby shop! I believe the extra screw they include in the light kit are longer then the ones you take off so I think your suppose to use the ones in the baggy. Lol.
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
Oh really lol, well that’s good to know haha!

Pretty cool! I made my own light kit. Not as scale looking as this, although I did put the side lights at the top, just like on the real Defender.
@SandJ-Adventures Жыл бұрын
Great video! Like you, I love the Traxxas light kit and I don't see a need to buy A N Other manufacturer's kit. Like you say, easy to fit and a great effect when out on the trail. I have added the little piece of foam to the front body clips, for the reasons you stated, but they seem durable after a month or tow of pulling the body off and on. I'm now looking at adding a little weight, to aid performance on hills etc.😄
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
For sure, it’s a reasonable price, couldn’t be easier to install, and works perfectly! I’m running into the same thing, a little bit more weight nice and low would really help the crawling ability
@sums369 Жыл бұрын
great video Steve. I got the same truck and did the light kit, thanks for the how to install part. im thinking of getting those same tires, are you happy with how they perform crawling? cheers from Los Angeles!
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
Great choice! Lol Yeah I’m happy with the tires. They perform really well everywhere I’ve used them!

Before you get that light kit wet. I would use conformal coating to seal in the terminals inside the housings. I got mine submerged and it did start bugging out 3 hours after it was submerged but it worked fine again about using IPA and drying with some canned air.
@rex_s80 Жыл бұрын
I took my housings apart to do it
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I knew it wasn’t waterproof and I’ve been looking into methods and this will be helpful
@rex_s80 Жыл бұрын
@@LittleGreyI recommend the teambrood coating that’s on eBay. You get a lot of product for the cost.
@MIKEC2000 Жыл бұрын
@@rex_s80do the LED housings open up easily? How did you do it?
@rex_s80 Жыл бұрын
@@MIKEC2000 so what I ended up doing is getting an exacto blade and just gently nipping off the top of the pegs that hold the two halves together. These use pegs that they melts the tips down to make it clamp if that makes sense. Once you gently remove the ring of melted material (don’t cut the tips off but you sorta pry and the melted circle comes off) and they come apart. I would do a labeling system or one at a time. Putting back together is easy. It slides into place and a dab of liquid super glue on the tips where you took the tips off and they are perfectly back together again. I would use a water bottle lid and a tooth pick for applying the glue. Put some in the lid and use the Toothpick to apply. Less of a mess. I didn’t put the circles that came off, back on. I hope that is clear enough. Let me know if you have questions.

Where did you find the truck? My local hobby shops never got them and I really want a blue defender. Those lights make it look so much better!
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
I found it at my local hobby shop fortunately. You can look on the traxxas website and it will show you who carries it in your area. I did have to order mine and wait about a week or so
@artsbyag Жыл бұрын
You should also add a real spare tire to the back. Thoughts? 😳
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
Maybe! I kind of like the clean look of the fake spare tire with the sticker, but I do love the look of a functional spare tire. I still have a lot planned for this rig, so it’s definitely on the list

Hi bud, can u tell me how much battery consume all these lights?
@LittleGrey7 ай бұрын
There is a hot to battery life, but it hasn’t been that bad. I haven’t timed it so I don’t have any specific information, but it’s not much

How are the stock rims holding up in the Injora tires? Did they have a problem staying while running the car?
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
it seems to work ok, though I haven’t driven very hard. If I really wailed on it, I have no doubt they would pop off. A couple drops of glue would really help, but as mentioned, I’m looking to replace them with beadlock wheels anyways
@cesarhidalgo236 ай бұрын
Why did you want a skinnier tire?
@LittleGrey6 ай бұрын
Looks more realistic, the stock fat tires aren’t very scale accurate
@artsbyag Жыл бұрын
Does it kill the battery much quicker?
@LittleGrey Жыл бұрын
It will definitely use more juice, but honestly I haven’t noticed much difference. But I’m also not driving it until the battery dies very much
@GeorgeLoch5 ай бұрын
Does your TRX4m have an on/off switch?
@LittleGrey5 ай бұрын
Nope! None of them come with one installed. I’m not sure what the reason is, but it turns on as soon as you plug the battery in and turns off only when you unplug it
@GeorgeLoch5 ай бұрын
