Ya know im kinda pissed at Michelle's old tennis camp teacher like they most likely just went to sleep after that but Michelle went on to avoid sports that even remotely resemble tennis up to now. That's so awful that that teacher was a teacher to possibly hundreds of students. I once did karate as a kid and she stuck in the corner every day abd told me i was too stupid to participate with the other kids.every. day. Until she called my parents in for a meeting about how i wasn't progressing and i was just unteachable. My parents pulled me out of that class but i avoided martial Arts until two years ago when i started Taekwondo and Aikido ( the reason i started again was because i was attacked by a man and realized i felt weak and helpless and it scared me more than what my old teacher said) and now I am accepted and encouraged in the martial art academy's im apart of and have advanced multiple belts and expanded into other fighting arts like Kick Boxing. But its insane how much one person, one mentors, terrible comments can affect a person's confidence for the entirety of their lives. I was just....mad to hear her story and how she was spoken too by someone who is supposed to be a mentor.

@merryberry65763 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree with you more, hearing Michelle retell this story made me so sad. For her instructor, it probably was some passing comment, but it changed Michelle's life forever and affected her self confidence. I'm so glad she was able to get past this fear and realize she isn't hopeless and unteachable. We all gotta be more careful with our words, especially to children.
@kittikat41243 жыл бұрын
Yep. The reason I quit archery was because of a coach who was a total jack ass if you werent shooting more than a 280... It got to the point where I was so stressed about these stupid standards that my average dropped from 275 to 240 in a year, which still isnt that bad, but I felt so terrible about it.
@aaronmontgomery20553 жыл бұрын
That depends on the establishment's purpose. If the establishment's purpose was to bolster the children's self esteem, sure your words hold merit. If the establishment's purpose and spirit was not that then we look further. If she was sent to a camp that fosters future tennis professionals then the words of the teacher makes sense considering she shouldn't have been sent to a tennis camp with that being her first experience in tennis, so the blame would be with the parent here. As for the martial arts experience you've had in your childhood trauma, while the student may choose their teacher the teacher has the right to choose their student as well. I am not condoning the actions of your teacher nor approving it.
@artemis77743 жыл бұрын
I love archery but a few years ago I wanted to join an archery club and I just picked the first one I could find. Let's just say they weren't very nice so I stopped even though I really liked the sport. A few incredibly supportive and lovely people encouraged me to start again and search for a different club. I am now very happily doing archery with super nice people.

Keith was not good at all wym lol He swung at all the balls during training but if you actually looked closely like 90% of them were out or didn't make it over the net Lauren was the best by far, then Eugene, then Keith, then Michelle It's why the teams were paired the way they were.
