Serious advice for anyone out there who hasn't dated a lot. Coffee is a better first date idea than dinner and a movie. You don't know how you're going to vibe. If you get coffee you could go for a walk after if it goes well or part ways if it's awkward. Dinner and a movie is a long time commitment to someone you haven't met yet. Ice cream on its own could also be a decent first date. Though the seats aren't as comfortable.

I worked in an auto shop and the work orders would have the customer name, address, phone number, ect. The parking issue is insane. I saw a fb reel the other day and men were going off on how woman just "expect" them to pay for everything on a date but then also were upset if the woman wanted to pay for themselves? Then these men also have the "men are providers" mentality but somehow are also upset if women expect that from them? Like how does that work? You provide but don't want her to benefit (because that means women live on "easy mode" right?) but also don't want her to pay for herself because you want to show you can provide for her... These type of men make 0 sense. Personally, I just assume I am going to pay for myself on the first date but that's usually because I only agree to something very casual. If they offer then I will say ok, unless I absolutely don't want to go on a second date then I insist I pay for myself just to play it safe and so no one thinks I "used them" for a free coffee or lunch. The following dates I will offer to pay for some aspect or if they get it I will mention I will get the next dinner or if they bought the tickets I will buy the drinks etc.
