Another good video Branden, you're making me jealous again, stop it! I've noticed the size of the white trout growing over the last few years but still not as big as when I was a kid....or was that because I was smaller then...hmmmm??? Things to ponder! Have a great weekend!
@CaptCollier3 жыл бұрын
I can’t help myself 😅 and I wish we had those 1-2lb white trout start showing up. Them things would fight just like a speck would and taste great! You have a good one too man

We were fishing a little ways offshore and of course trigger fish were out of season, but we couldn't get our bait down to the snapper because of triggers. Lady with us was posing for a picture with her first ever trigger fish. Her hook had a piece of squid about the size of a dime hardly dangling in the water and another trigger fish hit it almost taking my pole with it. Then trigger fish came in season the next week and I could not find one single legal one lol. Great video as always.

I'm new to speck fishing and am looking for tips on locating trout this time of year. Is it a certain water depth you're targeting? Do you fish every deep hole you find? Or just holes where you see bait or mark fish? Also what depth holes are optimal? Thanks.
@CaptCollier3 жыл бұрын
It’s really just relative to where you’re fishing. When the water temps get below 57-56ish the specks have no choice but to go deep where it’s warmer , usually along a muddy bottom. I typically do like to mark fish or bait on my depth finder but if I’m in an area where I know I e caught them before I’ll give it some casts anyways. Just takes some time on the water and a few hundred casts to figure them out sometimes

For the Lil slick? I don’t have a preferred brand. Most any 1/4oz jig should be good.
