Great video as always. Lane is definitely one of the best in Lafitte. His ghost minnows are extremely tough. Put well over 50 trout in the boat on one bait.

Looked like a fun trip. Was your guide friend using mono? He set the hook like he was haha! Also, what weight braid were you throwing on that baitcaster? Nice attempt with the fish cam. *POOL VIDEO IDEA* Use a couple of different cork styles with unweighted and various weight jigheads! See how they fall, etc. Call your son and tell him to get the rake and parking cone ready hahaha!

I switched over from goldeneye to eye strike trout eye jigheads this season. They hold great, have a big durable eye and a shorter shank for more tail action on your swimbait..

Todd, we were there several days last week and weekend but the strong east wind forced us to mostly stay in the canals and ponds in our bass boat. We covered a lot of territory and didn’t find any trout but got some nice reds. Where did you find such calm water?

Do you use braid for the main lines? Thanks!
@MerrittGrooming4 жыл бұрын
That’s the typical set up for most anglers here in Louisiana. I use 15-20lb braid with a 15lb floro leader
@noncched68394 жыл бұрын
For popping corks I use 30-40lb braid with a 17lb fluorocarbon leader. Braid doesnt stretch so it moves that popping cork better. I double the the braid stregnth over the leader because I'm not into losing $5-7 corks.

You guys need to come on down to the mobile/dauphin island area and catch some of these BIG TROUT. From what I can gather about Louisiana, it seems that yall are just flat out loaded with nothing but dinks. I can't remember the last Louisiana trout fishing video/show that I saw a trout over (22+) get caught. Tbh idk if I've EVER SEEN ONE OVER 22 GET CAUGHT IN THE BAYOU. The thing about it is, a 22" trout ain't even big for real. BUT, I know yall gotta have some gators, hell they say Texas is loaded with monster trout
