A lot of options. Last week I tried the FreeRig in MX. Using Zoom Magnum Lizards I caught 30 LMB in about 90 minutes, including a 7.52. I’m sold!

For a shrimp lure I use the 6th sense Crube. I also use these for stripers and sturgeon in the Sacramento delta. I've actually had luck recently with 35-year-old Mann's 7" paddle tail worms (Yamamoto makes one like it now)

My best free rig success has been on a baitcater with bigger creatures like a Keitech Crazy Flapper. 3/8 oz weight on 12 or 14 pound fluorocarbon

The big the DoLive shrimp on a 3/32 -3/16oz free rig is🔥🔥🔥 around docks and cover. Pretty much the same thing you'd do with a brush hog type bait on a t-rig but more finessier(if that's a word) yet with the same heavier tackle. Free rigging with DoLive beavers, big gill flats, or whatever has become my go to flipping/pitching technique. The Nishine namazu is also a great choice.

I've found a love for the SMH worms from Zman on my free rig. I use a 2/0 Double Edge Ryugi and when I give slack the worm will pull line and float back up. The worm is perfectly vertical the entire time. I'd think it's something completely different from most of the stuff fish are seeing out there.

I've been using the Dolive Beaver as a jig trailer, and the appendages rip off even on the cast. Disappointed, thought I'm not sure if it's cause I'm using the smallest version and it tears too easily.

@@thehookuptackle_usa the action is awesome without a doubt. I've seen it with my own eyes. But even on a BFS setup it tears easily on a cast if I use too much force. Perhaps I'll need to explore tougher baits for my style of fishing.

I’ve actually had the opposite experience they get bit! They last me a good amount of bites. If it’s a jig usually use a fínese heavier jig less force to cast like a kietech football. They get crushed by smallies up north.

How well does a free rig do in a river?

I haven’t tried the free rig . Just looks like a Texas rig to me. I thought guys would be putting more action into the bait . To create more separation between the bait and weight. But every time I see it being used. It’s fished just like a Texas rig. I don’t see the point.
