I love this pattern!!! Howe, when telling people to lower their stitch length from a 2 to a 1.5 is fine, but if your normal stitch length is 1.5 is it really necessary to lower it to a 1.2? A stitch length of 2.0 to 1.5 should work for anyone.

Hello Sherry! A 1.5 is fine. We try not to assume what stitch length everyone uses so when Kimberly says that it is a generalization.

Do you recommend starching fabric before or after you cut? I worked on a quilt where I starched and my blocks did not square up. I had some blocks that shrunk almost half an inch. Not sure if my error was in starching before or after cutting. I assume that is what caused the shrinking of my fabric. Or am I using too much starch? Help :-(

Hello FireflyDreams*! We recommend starching before you cut your fabric. Starching does cause fabric to shrink but it also helps Kimberly make more accurate cuts.

I’m pretty sure she used yardage and starched. Her fabric is too stiff to be a non-starched charm pack… and it wasn’t shrank in one direction. The pinked edges disappeared 😂
