Hello Mr Pendragon, My name is Nelson. I personally believe that Good Ol' Santa went to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry and that the Sorting Hat placed him in the house known for the most loyal and fair students, HUFFLEPUFF. Santa embodies the values of hard work, kindness, fairness, and loyalty, all hallmarks of Hufflepuff. Year after year, he oversees the monumental task of delivering presents to children across the globe, a feat that requires immense dedication and effort. Santa's ability to see the good in everyone, regardless of whether they're on the naughty or nice list, speaks to his Hufflepuff fairness. He doesn’t play favorites or seek glory for his deeds. There’s an argument to be made for his potential ties to Durmstrang, a school known for its appreciation of cunning and magical ingenuity. After all, Santa's reindeer flight magic and bottomless toy sack do hint at some advanced magical training. However, based on his personality and purpose, I feel Santa is more aligned with the warmth and inclusive spirit of Hufflepuff. As the sorting had might have said when Sorting Santa....Better be HUFFLEPUFF!!!!
@TschlengerКүн бұрын
While attempting to sort Saint Nicholas into any house other than Hufflepuff is tempting, the fit is too strong. He demonstrates fairness by providing gifts or coal based on the actions of children. He is dedicated to fulfilling his task annually. He exhibits patience and a strong work ethic by accomplishing the impossible in a single night. He certainly shows a fondness for nature in how he takes care of his reindeer and elves (who all appear to have been given clothes). Helga would be proud of Old Saint Nick.

While it might seem like Hufflepuff would be the most obvious choice being that he is loyal and kind and generous, I would think that Santa Claus would be in RAVENCLAW. 1. He is hardworking: He delivers all the Christmas gifts in one night to billions of children 2. He is organized: He maintains a naughty and nice list and also leads the whole operation with the elves like a true leader. 3. He is smart and creative: He has a factory run by elves to create all those toys and gifts for kids 4. He is accepting of everyone.

His endless kindness and dedication to delivering joy to every child perfectly match Hufflepuff’s values of fairness and hard work. Plus, his laugh-“Ho, ho, ho!”-would echo so warmly through the halls of Hogwarts.

When my father died of cancer, I lost my mind. I became highly depressed and suicidal. I had used the books as a way to escape the horrible circumstances I was in. One night in particular, I was more depressed than others and decided to end my life. But the Deathly Hallows was coming out in less than a month. I promised myself I'd hold on until I had completed the story. The world I was able to create in my mind was a reality that had no pain, no loss, just a damn fine story about such things. I held onto life to finish the story so many of us had grown up with. Said all that tonsay this: Thank you for all your amazing work that you put into making these videos! Another Wonderful and Magical episode as always. Dumbledore's tale and origins are pretty interesting. Seeing how this talented and ambitious person was blinded by not just someone who would share their abilities but also by love, as well as a reflection of how both would be. Grindlewald would be Albus if he went down the Dark Side. Albus would be if Grindlewald wasn't a psychopath. Grindlewald charming Albus in a way could be like Lucifer/The Devil. How he would appear more fair and beautiful to tempt others to fall down the wrong path. It is tragic how it took Ariana's death and Grindlewald attacking his brother did it open his eyes and turn him into the more kind and cautious Headmaster we know today. For Santa's Hogwarts House, I think maybe he could have been a Hat Stall between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Hufflepuff: They value Loyalty, Hard Work, Dedication, Fair Play, Patience Old St. Nick is patient with his work and Dedicated to it. I mean think about it. Working all year round on gifts and on which child or person is Naughty or Nice from their own deeds. He is fair with the names of children on his lists and he even welcomes everyone like when he got married to Mrs. Claus and the elves he has in his workshop and his herd of flying reindeer which he helps take care of. His loyalty to all humanity is shown in not just the gifts he gives to children, but even as St. Nick when he would drop three bags of gold to a poor family to save three daughters from bad situations. All showing his jollyness, kindness, generosity and love for all. All pointing to Hufflepuff. Plus he loves the sweets and food. The milk and cookies. Ravenclaw: They value Intelligence, Knowledge, Curiosity, Creativity, Wit The way Jolly Old St. Nick was able to make sure his North Pole Base hasn't been found by any means, be it special Concealment Magic or maybe ones around Space and/or Time takes insane amounts of Knowledge and Creativity. Then there is how he is able to know which kid is Naught or Nice and each deed they do and make and to know what each one wanted in past Christmas's. That takes a WHOLE a lot of Memory. It's like how Ollivander remembers every wand he sold and who he sold them to and what each wand was made of. Then there is how he keeps track of Naughty and Nice kids. Does he have paper and pens/quills like the Quill of Acceptance and the Book of Admittance? Maybe, it could be possible. How he used all magic he had to bring the Elves and to make the Reindeer fly. Maybe Rudolph was being born like any reindeer but infused with special light magic that he could have taken from the Northern Lights, which would have taken Great Creativity. Speaking of Knowledge and Creativity and Wit, there's how he would be able to travel around the world in a single night and deliver presents. So the Sorting Hat would take a good long while before deciding to put Santa in Hufflepuff. However, St. Nick might have been around before Hogwarts , yet when traveling or looking over the List, he while in younger years, goes to Hogwarts and learns more there. Maybe like in your Merlin Video, used time magic to go back further in time to the time of St. Nicholas of Myra. Will you ever do a Origins/History of other Magical Schools? Like Ilvermorny. Maybe with some MCUSA Wizard/Witch to help with telling the story? That would be fun to see on The Spellbook Chronicles. Learnign more about different Wizarding Schools. Then there's those like Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. The Durmstrang one could include a theory that was brought up by Seamus Gorman-(kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHSkdnmspK5ke9k , and Harry Potter Folklore- kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaXFiYSFnJJ0m6M) despite being founded by Nerida Vulchanova. There are other theories related to if Slytherin helped found Durmstrang as to why the school doesn't accept Muggle-Born/No-Maj born. But seeing the Ilvermorny one would be awesome to see. Also speaking of Ilvermorny, With you being in Ravenclaw and being an Adventurer Wizard. You might be either Horned Serpent or Thunderbird. How it goes is each Ilvermorny house, instead of being their own entity like the Hogwarts houses, the Ilvermorny Houses represent a different part of the Whole Witch or Wizard. So no matter where you are, you are a unique part of a whole. Horned Serpent represents the Mind and attracts Scholars Wumpus represents the Body and attracts Warriors Thunderbird represents the Soul and attracts Adventurers. Pukwudgie represents the Heart and attracts Healers. What is cool about the Ilvermorny Sorting, is more than one carving or the House Animals can react if they want the students in their house and then the student chooses which one to go in to. So Quentin, I think if you went to do the Ilvermorny Sorting, I think the Horned Serpent and Thunderbird Carving would react.

If Santa Claus were sorted into a Hogwarts house, I’d say he’d belong in Hufflepuff-but not for the reasons you might immediately think. Of course, his legendary kindness, generosity, and commitment to making sure every child feels special align perfectly with Hufflepuff’s values of hard work, patience, and loyalty. But it's not just his sweet nature that lands him there. Santa's dedication to his mission-delivering presents to every child in one night, across the entire globe-requires incredible persistence and organization, traits Hufflepuffs are known for. Plus, the magical logistics of Santa’s operation, with the reindeer, sleigh, and secretive North Pole headquarters, would likely be a product of extensive teamwork, much like a Hufflepuff’s strong bonds with their friends and family. And let’s not forget Santa’s unwavering belief in the goodness of people, which aligns with the Hufflepuff sense of fairness and trust. Santa embodies those ideals on a huge scale, spreading joy to all, regardless of background. So while he might have a little Gryffindor courage or Ravenclaw creativity, Santa’s core values make him the ultimate Hufflepuff-a magical embodiment of the house’s ideals of warmth, community, and never giving up on the magic of kindness.

Ah, the age-old question: which Hogwarts house would Santa Claus belong to? Let’s break it down, shall we? First off, we’ve got to consider his legendary generosity. I mean, the guy literally flies around the world in one night, delivering gifts to every child on the planet. That screams Hufflepuff to me! They’re all about hard work and dedication, and let’s be real, Santa’s got the ultimate work ethic. I can just picture him in the Hufflepuff common room, sipping hot cocoa with the house elves after a long night of sleighing! But wait, let’s not forget about the Gryffindor spirit! Santa is brave, taking on the challenge of traveling through the skies and dodging chimneys like a pro. Plus, he’s got that whole “naughty or nice” list thing down to a science, which requires a certain level of courage to keep track of all those mischievous little ones. You know he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve for those who end up on the naughty list. I mean, who else could pull off the ultimate heist of breaking into homes while leaving behind gifts? Talk about a bold move! Now, if we really want to get into the nitty-gritty, there’s a sprinkle of Ravenclaw in there too. Santa's got to be pretty clever to manage his operations, from toy production to logistics. I can just see him in a cozy corner of the Ravenclaw tower, brainstorming with his elves on how to make the best toys while also mastering the art of time management. So, in the end, Santa’s a bit of a house-hopper-Hufflepuff for his kindness, Gryffindor for his bravery, and Ravenclaw for his cleverness. But let’s be honest, he’d probably just charm the Sorting Hat into letting him hang out in all three houses!

Santa would be Slytherin. Hear me out, we know Slytherins are not all evil even Merlin was apart of that house. Santa is very ambitious; he has an entire holiday wrapped around him. Another quality favored by Slytherins, is strong leadership which Santa is in charge of who knows how many Elves all coordinating to make gifts for millions of children. Santa is also very much a rule-breaker; muggles not only know of him but know he's magical which means he refuses to adhear to the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.

I imagine Santa/Father Christmas/Saint Nick would have been in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw for these reasons: He was of Greek origin and from Anatolia where he was famous for his gift giving (in secret which implies a magical essence to it) and performed “wonders”. I.e. magic. He was known as the “wonder worker”. Considering witches and wizards generally live longer than muggles he became a different type of legend. After all, he would have to be breaking many laws of the International Statute of Secrecy to do what he does which lends credence to the idea he is part of the Ministry of Magic. Or one of the ministries to be fair. So, considering that it is likely he went to Durmstrang; for argument sake we will say he went to Hogwarts instead. He has a giving nature and uses his abilities to create said “wonders”. Hufflepuff house is known for its hard working in day to day life. Father Christmas (whether he employs the help of house elves or not…) is very hard working. But, a Hufflepuff is group oriented and this lends to the idea he works with a group of house elves. (Or an army of them). They are also known to be very impartial which, as we read and saw in the films Hufflepuff are until their nose is to the grindstone. In the end they will choose good over bad, to put it simply. All that hard work is destroyed by evil witches and wizards so Slytherin, although not an evil house produces the most nasty witches and wizards, and is highly unlikely. He also, is very well known for keeping a list of “naughty and nice” which shows a non impartial manner suggesting he could very well have been in Ravenclaw who are known for their wisdom and skills of deduction which is another thing Father Christmas is known for. There are arguments for both of these houses but none to either Gryffindor or Slytherin. If I had to put a fine point on it I would absolutely say he was a Ravenclaw. There is nothing that says a Ravenclaw does not work as hard as a Hufflepuff; merely that there are many notable wizards and witches from Hufflepuff house known for such. It would take great wisdom, intelligence, and creativity to know what each child wants. It would also take a likely, unique ability such as clairvoyance to see who is lying and who is truthful when he looks to see who has been good or rotten. In my opinion it is likely he is a Ravenclaw with a notable ability, separate from most witches and wizards to see into another’s heart & a member of a ministry (with treaties) whom allow him to carry out an old tradition he started before the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy in 1692 (signed 1689). The statute would be the exact reasoning he would have to hide his magical abilities and since his presence was ubiquitous in the Catholic muggle world I find it unlikely he didn’t divulge his magical secrets to some. Henceforth he would have to work with a ministry being such a revered figure that can’t just vanish. They selectively chose muggle ideas (I imagine very incorrectly as a sleigh does not fly. Or, that was intentional after observing muggle holiday customs they simply put a twist on it they didn’t think any muggle adult would ever believe) and did their best to keep his “legacy” alive that while which he was still living. One could speculate after hundreds of years he himself may have been granted a bargain with Flamel or his work too. Magic like that would not go without notice of the Ministry. That’s my guess. I tried to make it succinct.

But that big red suit and heart of pure gold gives me the vibe that it is Griffindor in some kind of living spirit ❤ Merry Christmas everyone.

I strongly believe Santa would be a Hufflepuff because they tend to wellcome everyone in their circles and they don't like to leave anyone aside. They like warm gatherings, always filled with grand feasts with uncountable dishes, all set in a warm and comfortable decor. Santa's personnality is known to be quite fatherly (that would explain his title as Father Christmas). In the past, families would struggle through winter, especially the children. That's why he had the idea of bringing some warmth to each and everyone of them in the shape of a present on Christmas Eve. Families would no longer regard winter as a bleak, cold and dark period filled with solitude and despair, but as a time to look out for, a time where anyone could find some kind of solace with a nice meal, with family and friends - while children would be overexcited to recieve a present by Santa.

Santa would be a Hufflepuff. Kindness and Loyalty are the key ideals that make the holiday season worth all the hassle. When you bring the people you love, people you are loyal to together. That is called Family. And you want to extend that to the people around you in constant small acts of kindness.... Huh, Santa and I would get along well 😂🍪 🦡

Albus Dumbledore as a protective figure to his brother and sister as a child. I would have to say given dumbledore's personality as a child. I would say he overlooked or didn't really care at all about his brother or sister. He was too obsessed with his learning and intrigue in magic to truly care about the last two members of his family. When his sister died that all changed. But I'm pretty sure, the child Dumbledore was way more preoccupied with his books and spells than anything to do with his brother and sister

Ol’ St. Nick (santa) would be Hufflepuff. I imagine he’d be a big fan of Helga. Santa is firm and fair when deciding on whose naughty and whose nice. He’s also forgiving and accepts all who try to be good. An icon of joy and goowill, Santa keeps the the holiday magic alive in people and wants asks for nothing in return. Finally he has an affinity for holiday treats.

My belief is that he would have been a Hufflepuff. Their traits are exemplified as Hardworking, Loyalty, Patience, Justice and most importantly their perpension for Kindness. Kriskind became known as Chris Kringle. He was pious and known to be who was very religious and most of all very kind. He was know to give his wealth out to those that would leave their shoes outside. He stopped the sale of three sisters who would have been sold off to be spicy sleep workers by their poor father. He did this by giving them a dowry, so they could be married. This shows kindness of a Huffpuff. He would do so with hard work by going around in his mission as a monk and the dedication that it takes which also shows his ability to be loyal to cause and those around the world. With his coworkers the house elves. They work beside him which lends to one to conclude that much like Harry and Dobby’s relationship. His relationship is a positive one. They work together for a good cause. This would bring us to conclude and believe that he a good leader one would who is fair and kind. In any job to keep your workers they would a good work environment to be able to keep all those elves works over the centuries.

Somehow, I'd sensed you would be a Ravenclaw despite my initial guess (Slytherin). It showed from your relentless pursuit of knowledge during your time in hosting the Spellbook Chronicles. Just one question though, are you in the same generation as Penny Haywood or just went to Hogwarts at the same time? Anyway, another great episode as always. Forget Rita Skeeter, you never fail to deliver!

I think Santa would have been in Hufflepuff. While he is very brave to go on such long sleigh journeys on a flying sleigh whose magic is without doubt based on deep knowledge (Ravenclaw) he has a very giving heart in that he gives so much of himself every year and also checks to make sure if a given child has been bad or good which is without question a Hufflepuff trait as well.

Santa is definitely a Hufflepuff, he'd be spreading joy not seeking power (not slytherin obviously), Santa would likely Fair and hardworking (could be gryffindor or ravenclaw but naaah), and he is a loyal person to commit his life for many people, not to mention he got bunch of elves work with him! (hufflepuff dorm are the closest to the kitchen and the elves of hogwarts live there!

I would have to say that Santa Clause would be in Hufflepuff. Think about it. He loves food (well cookies, and milk. They are a food right?) But also he's a a kind, loving soul (warm hearted), welcomes everyone, is patient and hard working. Santa is definately a Hufflepuff!!!!!💛🖤💛🖤

Santa would in my opinion (a proud GRYFFINDOR :)) thinks he would be HUFFLEPUFF, he has all of the qualifications of the traits a true HUFFLEPUFF has, Santa is hard working, has a strong moral code (Santa chooses to be on the good path), sense of right and wrong (his list of children the good and naughty list) and is accepting of all, Santa would never discriminate anyone. So I feel that he would be in Hufflepuff.

Lol fun fact I have a hogwarts story for almost every person of magical descent in cinema lol (Marry Poppins, Gandalf, Nanny Mcphee) But you asked so I will give you Santa. So Santa obviously is a Hufflepuff we all know that. Hufflepuffs are the friendliest of houses. They believe in bringing joy to those around them. Thus when Santa went to hogwarts he loved giving gifts to his fellow housemates and friends alike. He would go down to hogsmead and pick up sweets from honey duke's, scarvs dervish and bangles and place them round the common room for all to find. Santa did have a brother Krampus but he decided to pursue his education at Durmstrang so Nicholas wanted to fill his heart with the joy of those around him, filling the void of his absent brother. Also Santa has flying reindeer. Hufflepuffs are known to have a deep passion for care of magical creatures. Nicholas would be seen many times out at the care of magical creatures class room feeding and talking with the animals. Nicholas loved the unconditional love the creatures would give to him all the while reminiscing on the times Nicholas and Krampus would break bread with there mother Mrs.Clause. After the passing of his mother and the separation of his brother during there times at school Nicholas knew the animals would never abandon him. Now let's talk about the elves. We already know the Wizarding community has a very nefarious relationship with the elvish community. Nicholas saw the elves in the kitchen at hogwarts as the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room is in the kitchen area. He would see the elves work as he would head to class or be coming from studies. Nicholas and his family did not come from much money so affording an elf was something beyond his grasp. Because of this he did not see the elves as lesser, but equal. When Nicholas became Santa in order to give the elves a safe home he asked them to join him and spread joy to the world. Santa is a hufflepuff to the core he is prime A hufflepuff. Though my story may be scattered it was fun coming up with this idea and he melds so well to the Wizarding world it kind of wrote itself lol

Santa Claus stands out as the quintessential Gryffindor. here's why: Bravery isn't just about the fight with dragons; that is, it is taking a stand for what has to be done, no matter the odds. Every year on Christmas Eve, he faces challenges that are terrifying: weather conditions that change by the minute, half the world in one single night, and billions of children waiting for joy-completely unrecognized and unrewarded. His unwavering courage to make the world better one gift at a time reflects the very heart of Gryffindor. But Santa's Gryffindor spirit isn't just about his daring deeds; it's his fiery determination to uphold justice. With his legendary Naughty or Nice list, he encourages kindness and fairness, traits that align perfectly with the lion's strong moral code. And let's not forget the bold Gryffindor flair-his signature red outfit? It's practically house colors! Santa is more than just a figure of festivity. He is a beacon of hope, courage, and heart. If the Sorting Hat sat upon his head, it would shout 'Gryffindor!' faster than you could say 'Accio sleigh!

Also something that I've always wondered since I've read the books the first time. Why didn't dumbledore's mother and father. Explain what happened to their child. And then both of them take jobs at St Mongo's, and just take care of their child in St Mongo's. Father would have never had to go to jail mom would have never ended up dying and her sons would have been able to live decent lives. Without having to live with the thought of their father being a murderer or child abuser

15:59 Called it! And Santa would've been a Hufflepuff. Santa Claus embodies the core traits of Hufflepuff House: kindness, hard work, loyalty, and inclusivity. His commitment to bringing joy to children worldwide reflects a tireless work ethic and a selfless dedication to spreading cheer. Year-round, Santa and his elves labor in preparation for a single magical night, showcasing the diligence and perseverance Hufflepuffs are known for. Moreover, his willingness to treat every child equally-whether naughty or nice-demonstrates an open-minded, inclusive spirit, a hallmark of Hufflepuff values. Santa's loyalty and sense of community further align him with Hufflepuff ideals. He remains faithful to his mission despite challenges, embodying the reliability and devotion that Helga Hufflepuff prized in her students. His warmth and generosity foster a global sense of unity and wonder, making him a figure of hope and belonging. Just as Hufflepuffs embrace and nurture all who enter their house, Santa Claus embodies a universal love for all people, regardless of their background, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of Hufflepuff.
