This was one of my favorite stories growing up, and it was such a fun experience to reinterpret it through my own vision. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I loved creating it! Which character do you relate to the most? If you had to choose between a heart, courage or a brain which would you choose? Let me know below! L. Frank Baum himself admitted it was simply meant to be a story, "not" packed with hidden meanings but some coincidences are just too striking to ignore if you ask me.📖🔍

Amazing video! It’s crazy that something written so long ago has more relevancy than it probably ever has. Thank you for bringing this story to life so beautifully.♥️

I needed this! Thank you! I have been living in poverty, with an alcoholic for a husband for several years. I've stayed because I've been conditioned to believe I can't live apart from him. I'm finally about to take the steps to break free.

I think I relate most to Dorothy. It’s all about embracing the unknowns of life and discovering your own strength along the way and who you really are.

I relate to the Tin Man the most tbh. Most days I feel like just another number while the rich get richer and everyone else is left to suffer. It's not right.

This video is eerily adjacent to what's going on today! All in favor of the rich! History repeats itself. I peeped this years ago through an article I read about the Wizard of Oz. Look at what's happening to the farmers, particularly black farmers.

Is it just me, or does this whole story seem like a giant critique of capitalism disguised as a children’s tale? Who benefits and who suffers in Oz? Just saying… 👀

Baum wrote Oz after seeing Vivakanda speak at the first world congress of religions. (1893 just after the fair) Though some of this is true to the time he lived in, it’s really about various yogas (paths)in Hinduism, Jhani, intelligence or wisdom, Bhakti, love or devotion, karma or work, and Raja, the royal path that includes all the others. There is a very good biography of Baum, he wasn’t such a failure. His newsletter was focused on retail display, and it was so much copied and ripped off his got lost in the crowd. He toured with his own play, and did quite well until they lost all their props and costumes to a tornado in Kansas.

What happened to the shoes being red?
@HocuspocusbfcСағат бұрын
@AngieRIamHIS4Life They were originally silver in the book, but changed to red for the movie to take advantage of new Technicolor technology.

Imagine a "good" witch bringing you there to crush/kill her enemies then sending you through hell to go home when she knew all along how to send you back ..YEAH, THATS THE REAL STORY, THINK ABOUT IT, no wonder the other was so pissed off
@Hocuspocusbfc2 минут бұрын
@tylersmith7005 The Chessmaster Theory! It's rooted in the movie rather than the original book. The book portrays Glinda differently, she doesn’t even meet Dorothy until the end. But I like the movie version better adding that layer to make it more interesting. For so long, I thought Glinda was a good witch in the movie, my whole childhood was a lie!

That story could be written today. I can't wait until somebody pulls the curtain aside on Donald Trump.
