Poor Petunia. She suffered so much. She felt like a mouse. Probably seen, but ignored and/or rejected by everyone. But Lily loved Petunia deeply and tried to give her sister everything Lily received, but Petunia never had. This shows true love and devotion. This is why Lily Evans is my hero. For me, when the characters mention that Harry had his mother's eyes it means more than the colour... it means his soul was similar to his mother. He was kind. He was more similar to his mother in personality, although looking physically like his father. I always remember the time when Draco was hurt by him, Harry threw that book immediately. His nature was just like his mother and I think that's what Snape saw when he was dying.

Actually, in the books it says that Petunia loved being with her sister. They were always doing thing together. I think the jealousy began when Lilly met Snape, and he tried to shut her out of their conversations. It only intensified when Lilly got her letter from Hogwarts.

Lily Evans is my favourite character from the books. As a nearly 40 y old man, i feel shame, but its hard for me to watch or read about her as i know they going to die so young as a lovley couple. Lily is the strongest character from the saga.

a beautiful story, amazingly told but, it does lead me to a question; Petunia; how was she able to write to Albus Dumbledore? write the letter, sure. but, how did she get it to him? I had thought she might have given the letter to the owl who brought Lily her letter, or, since Lily was muggle born, the teacher who would come and explain the situation

You know I have a theory regarding this. Hope that explains a few things here. Of course petunia did wrote letter to Dumbledore, its canon. So the theory is as follows. I think there are few muggle postmen who were disguised as wizards. Or maybe squibs. Mainly this service is available for, muggle parents of the muggleborn, so that their parents could contact them in case of an emergency. However this service could also be used by a random muggle as well, if they were aware of the existence of magic. They only need to just put the letter into the mailbox and that's it.

In the prisoner of the Azkaban movie, Remus tells Harry that, lily helped him at d time when no-one else did, but I guess after the 5th yr incident, although Remus was a prefect along with her, she must have distanced herself from all the marauders coz they were James & his friends.
