@No Name Well, for one, being in a relationship with a woman doesn't make you cis or het. Nevermind the fact that what they're clearly referring to is the fact that Ned is the very definition of "Straight white American that loves his wife and kids more than life itself." That stereotype can be damaging because it's usually lumped in with being a toxic conservative, being emotionally damaged, being abusive, toxic masculinity, sexist etc etc so it's nice to see the "stereotypical white straight man" being openly provocative in a way you wouldn't usually see. Stupid comment. 🙄

As a fellow queer who has typically felt uncomfortable being feminine and wearing "sexy" or revealing clothes, I feel the same about him. All of the Try Guys, but especially Ned and Keith, make me feel so much less pressure to look a certain way. I'm genderfluid and typically lean toward enby, but I'm still learning that I don't owe anyone androgyny. You don't owe anyone masculinity. We just owe ourselves love and joy. 💜

The fact that they acknowledged strippers and where pole dancing comes from in this video is so important. Strippers and sex workers deserve to be acknowledged for all they've done. Also, Ned's routine made me blush. He did the damm thing.

No toxic masculinity here!!👌🙌🙌🙌
@naqueeldiva76933 жыл бұрын
@@ChadDidNothingWrong This rubbed me the wrong way and I didn't know at first why exactly. However, I think it bc your logic is correct but it doesn't feel right emotionally. It's like telling someone healthy that they should appreciate it bc someone else has cancer, or a SA survivor that they should appreciate normal people more bc of their negative experience. While that's true and the logic is valid, it feels wrong morally bc you still "support" the negative experience's existence for the sake of a more positive one. Does that make sense? In this case it seems like you support normal guys who have this type of toxic masculinity. If you didn't, you wouldn't have left this comment, bc usually when you bring up a counterexample, you support the counter point. Playing devil's advocate still makes you associated with the devil. You could be innocently missing the point on purpose, but usually the people who do this counter point thing are trying to maliciously get the conversation off track. Some examples of this happening are on the "all men are trash" videos where women are talking about being SA'd, and people leave comments like "not all men." Like, yes, that fact is true, but that's a separate discussion. Long response to a not so long comment, but ty for giving me an opportunity to clear my thoughts.

I love Devin saying how it has helped individuals trust their bodies after some sort of trauma. I am so inspired! Also Neda laughing brings me joy!

I'm legitimately impressed by how well they did and the fact that they both took it so seriously. I was expecting Keith to be making jokes the whole time and Ned trying to flex manliness. But Keith reaction was so genuine and Neds dance was sexy as hell. It was so lovely to see them really throwing themselves into it and actually trying. It's awesome to see how much they have grown and evolved. Great video guys!

I think you had the wrong perception of them then because they dont possess an ounce of toxic masculinity they're the most genuine and accepting guys i've come across thats one of the main reasons I love watching them!

There is so much positivity and hard work/talent coming from every single person in this video, and I am absolutely here for it!!! Devin is such a great role model for helping people gain confidence in their bodies, Ned is crushing toxic masculinity and absolutely enjoying it, Keith is putting in the effort to do something that may be out of his comfort zone but having fun and rocking it, and Neda is crushing stereotypes and pushing people to be their best. These are the kinds of people and the type of content that the world needs right now, keep this sh*t up! *Edit* so much for crushing toxic masculinity. This didn't age well, this sucks.
