I’m glad this wasn’t a super jokey video and they actually respected her profession. the guys got lashes which were subtle and natural without making them look stereotypically feminine which neither of them are to begin with. you can tell they are tailored because Rachel’s are a bit more dramatic. I actually think they would have looked stunning if they were a bit more dramatic. it’s rare to find someone who can enhance your lashes without you looking like you have a mustache on your eyelids. but I guess if she’s the og then it makes sense. beautiful work!

I have a friend who released an album and in all the promo when she had a stylist and lighting and video editors and was looking her absolute best she OBVIOUSLY looked perfect. She looked Hollywood Pretty. And she's pretty to begin with, I think, but there is a difference between Real Life Pretty and Hollywood Pretty. And it was a real big punch in the face wake up to me to be like "Oh yeah. Of course you'd look like that if there were people around you whose literal job it was to make you look perfect." IDK. Zach made this very common comment about contact lenses. One thing I learned about wearing contact lenses: optometrists/ophthalmologists don't know how to comfortably put in the lenses. They always go directly into the eye while you're looking straight. It's horrible. It's extremely difficult for the majority of people. Just put the contact lens in while looking to the side, then look straight. The lenses always glide onto the cornea. I can do that without a mirror now.

That’s how my eye doctor told me to do it (but I quit using lenses cuz I think my astigmatism is just a little too bad for them and my eyes got too dry, and the lenses kept sliding under my lid).

The side technique really doesn't work for me. I just put them in straight on the lens of the eye. Don't want the contact lens to move and i prefer the lower risk of it falling out & getting dirty. I do it without a mirror too. ^^ What helped me was knowing that it doesn't hurt to touch your eye. It will only hurt when you close your eye after you make the eye dirty or dry with your touch.

Oh she does them so well, no wonder if she invented them. So many people get the lash extensions and it looks like a hedgehog died on their eyes, but these looked so natural. Also Rachels reaction is everything.

There’s different styles. Classic, low volume, mega volume. There are also different shapes, different curls, and different lengths. Usually when they don’t look so good, it’s like a curtain of all the same length lashes and it just doesn’t look right, even for volume lashes. My lash lady has clients that request specific lengths and volumes that she doesn’t necessarily think look good, but she does what the client wants

Rachel and Dionne, thank you for sharing you cancer treatment stories. You’re absolute heroes. 💛💛💛 I’ve never gotten lash extensions, but I get lift and tints a couple times a year. I have severe self-image issues and just doing that little bit, waking up to lashes that are visible and curl upward rather than downward like they like to do naturally, it’s incredible how much it boosts my self-confidence. I’ve gotten out of the habit of makeup since covid and getting a work-from-home job, but just that little bit of treating my external self makes an oddly large amount of difference.
