the overnight robe tie curls work super well! youre actually supposed to have the section of your hair by your face moving away from your face, and the back section wrapping around it toward your face. think of it like a braid, with the ribbon as the third section, but instead of just swapping the hair piece to the opposite side like you would in a braid, wrap it around all the way so that the pieces of hair are always on their own original side of your head it also works best if you use two ribbobs that cross in an "x" shape on the top of your head if you have a LOT of hair like mia does. hers didnt turn out because she had too much hair all together and it didnt have a chance to dry properly. i also dont recommend wrapping them into those buns at the end either

If you want to get heatless curls a bit faster, you can do a french braid on dry hair and then spray it with detangling spray. It dries much faster than water and your hair feels really soft when you're done. It would probably work with a few of the other tools as well, as long as the detangler can reach all of the hair that you want to curl. I started doing it with Suave Kids' detangler spray, which I think works the best, but I've also tried other detanglers as well.

My mom used to curl my hair in rag curls when I was a little girl. It's done with cut strips of material. You end up with ringlet curls. Take a section of hair (less hair for tight curl, more hair for a looser ringle or curlt) start at the bottom if hair and wrap around material strip to hairline, tie in a loose but stable knott. It's very easy to sleep on and the curls really last. The pink bobbin type curlers probably create the same curl. Would love to see you try the rag curl method. I bet you'd really see some strong curls. It foes take a while to dry, but can be done with damp hair too. OK, the blue noodles are pretty much like doing a rag curl. A rag curl however would be a little bit tighter as you're tying it in an actual knot. You also don't need to worry about not having purchased enough curlers.

As someone that often sleeps with my hair in a Plait, I'm not surprised to see the Braids worked -- If you can't French braid try plaits, they're easier.
@notaclue8224 жыл бұрын
I thought they were the same thing. What is a plait if it isn't a braid?
@CiarlaB4 жыл бұрын
@@notaclue822 So over here when we talk about a plait we typically mean one where you don't add in hair as you go. You start with the amount of hair you want to use. Where a braid you start from the top of the head and add in more hair as you go. I'm in Australia I don't know if that is the reason for the distinction. From as far as I've seen in 25+ years people will use Plait for the one that doesn't add as you go, and French Braid or Braid for the version that does.

@thetiredworm21004 жыл бұрын
@@pingoo9680 Brushing your hair is a big reason for hair falling out, when you do it roughly you are straining the hair and pulling on it too much.
@thetiredworm21004 жыл бұрын
@@pingoo9680 U should do it as gently as you can and brush the hair starting from the bottom, making your way to the top, this helps to untangle tangles more easily.

The pool noodle is my favorite 😩 but yes order a lot so you can have fuller curls and the curls last longer when using smaller sections and wrap it all the way to the top with using the hair mousse and really let it dry and mamas it will come out beautiful!

My hair’s curly It’s frizzier when I blow dry it. It’s also straighter when I repeatedly dry and brush it until it’s not wet. It’s curlier when it dries naturally and frizzier when I use a hair dryer. Rn it’s a curly mess because it hasn’t been brushed 😳😬🤫

I'm going to say this because it changed my heatless curl plan for life. SOCK CURLS. My hair is too long for all of the store bought options I've found to work well, so when i want more than french braid waves, socks work the best. There are different techniques, but my favorite is I take the sock, wrap a chunk of hair down it with the toes of the sock at the top, and then I hold the ends in place while I fold the rest of the sock up over the curl. Grab a hair tie and fasten the sock closed, and repeat for the rest of your head. They're cheap, easy, fast, and your hair stays in the sock so nothing unravels in your sleep. You can use whatever size sock you need to for your length of hair, and they're much more comfortable to sleep on than most options. I've also found that they give me the most consistent results, no matter how wet my hair starts out. Just putting it out there. Sock curls are up there right next to braids. Sorry for the long explanation.

For people who want ring curls and have VERY long hair: as someone with hair about 34 inches long this is what i recently learned works for me. Rag curls. There are two methods. One is taking shorter strips of cloth, wrapping it up like old fashion curlers (or like the pop socket things that she tried), and tying the ends of the cloth in a knot. I tend to pin them to my head as well just for extra security. This has spiral curls that are a little looser. The other is taking long strips of cloth. Tightly coiling the hair down the cloth, then wrapping the rest of the cloth back up the coil and tying the ends together. This makes much smaller ringlets and when you break them apart your hair is SO beautifully curly. Both have tutorials online, but either way, the prep makes all the difference for success or failure. I almost find it easier to start with dry hair, then take a spray bottle to get it just barely damp. I saw online somewhere that using sea salt water helps curls hold better and figured might as well try. While I didn't conduct a full experiment, since I was putting the rags in after a shower I didn't spray the first few pieces I put up, and they held SO MUCH WORSE then the ones that i sprayed with the sea salt water. I read that mousse does the same thing, but I haven't tried it so can't recommend it's success. I did this for a show (lots of movement and had to last like 10 hours) and they basically didn't fall out at all.

Several of the things she tried really do the same thing. I'm just cheap and don't want to buy things 😂. So I preferred cutting up old t-shirts instead

Most of these heatless curls techniques work better on totally dry hair overnight. A little hairspray through the mid lengths and ends and wrap and you'll get a beautiful curl/wave.

When my hai was long like that, I used to do french braids. And it gave an epic wavy texture to my hair. I'd get it wet, put in the braids, lightly put some mousse over the top of the braids (or get it in my hair before braiding) leave it overnight then take it out in the morning. I had some awesome wavy hair 😎
