Trying a Leica q3 for the first time...

Worth it! I've had many cameras, most Nikon's. their glass is as good as anyone, EXCEPT Leica. The lenses are magical. Shapest I have ever seen. Now maybe Hasselblad has better, but then their costs are astronomical compared even to Leica. Plus controls, ergonomics (with right grip), Auto/Manual focus modes, sealed lens (no more sensor dust, at least not that need my cleaning), 61MP (crop able to 20mp easily) and great features. Worth it.

I probably didn't have enough time to play with it. I bet I'd start loving it over a longer period of time as well!

It is indeed a bit warmer and looks a bit nicer, but I find the difference quite marginal. Only that wouldn't be worth the price difference imo

There is a slider in all photo editing apps that will make any photo warmer.

Immediately could tell which was the Sony just by the colors, that brown is a dead giveaway. I’ve had a Sony cam for 8 years and the colors always leave a lot to be desired, even after editing. Just got my Leica a week ago so really excited to take it for a spin

Well, that's your opinion for sure. Sony's come a long way and I did think the Leica colours looked a tiny bit better, but the difference isn't that dramatic imo. Super exciting you got a Leica tho, might get one myself if I have the funds haha, enjoy!

sorry to say, but not being able to get good colors has more to do with your editing then with your camera. It's just an excuse to blame it on the gear and wanting to buy more gear to get better.

@@KaanSenel definitely, their colors have gotten far better but it was a bit of change after shooting with canon for so long. So far the Leica color profiles are stellar outta the box.

No where in my comment am I saying “Leica make me GUD” lol just noting that Sony in the past didn’t quite have a color profile as solid as say canon, but they’ve gotten better.

Things like micro contrast, deeper blacks, sharpness etc make the images out of any Leica special. The Sony produced a bit flatter images.

I did notice those small things as well. But for lot's of people that won't be worth the price difference.

I have Leica Q2 and Sony A7C ii, have to be honest Leica color science is hard to beat. Sony comes a long way, with help from fantastic GM lenses, it’s much better than say five years ago. However,Sony photo needs editing to match Leica. I love both for different scenarios.

I really liked the warmer tones and the micro contrast of the Leica as well for sure! I probably also would get a Leica some day if I had the money haha. Both tools serve a different clear purpose indeed.

The price to size & quality ratio play a big part here. The Leica Q3 is not for a lot of people due to the cost. I might want to get one myself one day, so I'm absolutely not bashing on Leica or the Q3. It's a beautiful machine with beautiful images. Like I said, I also didn't have that much time with it so I didn't fully experience everything about the cam.

I didn't have enough time to play around with so I probably didn't understand the camera and how it feels shooting with it. I'd probably still love to have one in the future

The Leica Q3 has 60 mp at 28mm when you crop it or shoot it like a 75mm it will no longer have 60mp probably closer to the 16mp of my Fuji xpro 1 with the 50f2 fitted my lens will display better background seperation at this focal length my 50f2 is pretty sharp the xpro1 has some pretty nice colours and can get quite close you say 6000 for the Leica Q3 I say 650 2nd hand for my xpro1 & 50 f2 plus I can put any other lens on I choose to autofocus or manual F1,f1.2,f1.4 why would I buy a Leica Q,Q2,Q3 I wouldn't I would be limiting my possibilities photo wise and financially

It's a very specific niche camera for sure. It's not meant to be for everyone and not everyone will like it, that's a fact!
